Here is a list of things that I think would make Eve much more diverse, alive and fun, while some are just thoughts that wouldn't have a massive impact on gameplay

1. tier 2 and 3 destroyers, tier 3 can fit medium weapons, the class hierarchy would be similar to battlecruisers, and right now destroyers are not the most popular except of course the infamous thrasher

2. capital ship mechanics redesign, carriers are more focused on damage dealing instead of being a supersized logistics ship, dreads have drone bays back, they can better defend themselves against smaller ships but still can never fight solo

3. all ships have some role in pvp, which is really the essence of Eve's gameplay, such as logistics cruisers having superior tanks or drone bays.

4. POS stations have a more refined appearance, instead of floating blocks and towers with a big bubble around them, they have an appearance like a station, and different structures add on to it like modules

5. player corps can make sovereign systems high security with infrastructure upgrades, law can be enforced by a player police force that's payed by concord to kill criminals and aggresors, and lose money when they ignore an unprovoked attack on another player

6. asteroid belts are actual belts that stretch around an entire system, giving a much more realistic and larger-scale feel to industry, and providing more resources that don't need to be unrealistically refreshed every downtime (im slightly obsessed with eve being realistic... in a way)

7. more organized way for players to provide mercenary, bounty hunting, and escort services to other players, like a sort of contract, in exchange for isk and player/corp loyalty points

You know what I think needs changing?

The EVE-O forums mouse over text.

I miss having proper text written next to the sub forum names that said what they were for.

Especially the text saying new features and ideas should go into the Features and Idea sub-forum.

i believe i posted this here because several of the points have to do with SHIPS and MODULES, which i believe this forum is aboutRoll

It's a common misconception. Don't kick yourself. F&I is definitely a better place for this.

1. Cruisers already have a hard time to fill their role, lets them do this because we need that more then oversized gun destroyer
2. Nothing wrong with carriers as logistics, they are great at doing it and very commonly used, dont fix what aint broken
3. This is being done in the tiericide but logistics role is not a offensive one, they have small drones and good tank (really small sig helps them a lot) they shouldnt have more
4. We are in a bigger need of a POS mechanics overhaul then a graphical
5. Nullsec is supposed to be player enforced security, if you want highsec then stay in highsec
6. I think something like this is coming with moon mining minerals for ships to mine
7. At least mercenary contracts are coming, was said on fanfest

1) meh, might be cool, but I'd like to see the balance of the existing lineup post tier-icide

2) meh, then what are titans and dreads for if carriers are primary damage dealers?

3) already in the works as far as i know

4) Doesn't affect gameplay

5) Hell no, no concord for player controlled systems. I would like to see the ability to temporarily anchor player built sentry guns anywhere in system (lets say they only last 2 hours before they must be scooped or something)

It might be nice to be able to deploy "sentries" (not a drone that counts towards your limit) at an asteroid belt, or a safe spot, or whereever, to give you some "safer" spots that aren't just sitting in POS shields.

Perhaps even player built "Autonomous drones" so you could build a sort of gate police, but they wouldn't be any stronger than the normal T1 hull +T1 fitting with no skills factored in (ie inferior to any player controlled ship)
The number of such player built NPC ships that could be active in a system would be tied to sov or perhaps POS stuff
- maybe instead of anchoring guns at a POS, the POS could field these drones, that could be assigned to guard a gate, the "drones" would count against the POS's CPU.
So you could have a POS with defensive guns, or you could set up a POS as a "Drone base", and have that POS support NPC "drone" cruisers that just patrol an assigned gate (or belt)

6) meh, it would probaly be hell on the servers.
I'd rather see random ice types spawn in WH grav sites... and grav sites that yield everything needed for T1 production within high sec space (I think I've seen zydrine yielding grav sites in high sec, but not megacyte)

I dislike each and every one of these ideas.
