I mean, we had cloning and exact same technology already... what changed? Please explain because as it sounds from the trailer no one is immortal in game, which is totally untrue, capsuleers are and always were. :\

I'd explain more about the sleeper implants and pod tech, but that'd be going into spoilers for the Templar One book

It would make sense for ambulation features. The pod will simply become an interface for pilots instead of having the additional function of having to scan a pilot's brain upon hull breach. Now consciousness will be transferred to clones upon death. ∃
