i could not make it to Iceland so i dont have a full story

this very bad picture is being passed around at it says that most bots are in Caldari space.

well what are these bots? are they ratting, minning, market, local spam, courier bots?

this matters because 3 of the 5 are the problem, market and spam bots only regurgitate existing items, and since the forge is the largest offender i would put money on the fact market bots are going to be flagged.

can someone who was there shed some light on this.

Its the bots that CCP know about...given how some modern bots work I bet they only know about a small percentage.

That'd be my face you can sort of see in the picture.

From the bots we've been catching since Team Security started going after bots again, that is the distribution(If a region is left out, that's simply because I wanted a clean slide, and the number was very small).

I believe the full presentation is being showed on EVETV at 19.00 tonight. You should catch that or the youtube version for full context.

And we completely neglected to include a graph with the distribution between market, mission, ratting, mining, etc. I'm going to dig that up and see if it's worth a dev blog with some more stats as well.

Just a random dude in Team Security.

It is worth a devblog. /statsnerd

What I'm curious about is how botting in EVE compares to other games. Primarily, how much of it in EVE is for RMT outfits and how much of it is for otherwise legit EVE players funding their characters/corps/alliances. Looking forward to the youtube post.

Every maker of a game in the world would be curious about this as well because nobody has the answer. :)

no those are bot users :)

No, that's multiboxing - there's no automation involved. Since we're talking about what goons are doing wrong though, you're pretty close to goonf*cking...

Fought that guy a while ago. Fun fight actually. Didn't look like a bot to me but rather someone with an extreme obsession for multi boxing. Think you need to do some research before you accuse some random names you see in local.

Shouldn't this team have been called :

or...

"Team Tinman's Bleeding Heart"

Or...

"Team Fourth Law of Botting : A bot shall not break the EULA"

Just saying... Twisted

This picture only says most CAUGHT bots are in Caldari space. Consider the fact this is also the most populated space so botters are more easily spotted. Because of this, its very highly unlikely the Region with most botters. Also: not only are empire miningbots more easily spotted then mission/ratting bots, but they often run more clients as well.

in regards to flagging botters i think that they should be flagged in local + a concord action implimented where not only to they have public killrights on them but also cloaking devices are disabled thusly botters in null sec and high sec would be vulnerable to being shot to pieces by other players with impunity.
also leaving a mark on said botter for CEO's to spot as previously discussed at fanfest.

This does not shock me. Bat Country killed hundreds of them in caldari ice belts.

Enough for some to make a way of living and a real business, selling in game items or accounts with characters from a few cents of $/€ to several thousands $/€ is a regular practice.
Some pretend that for some fps games the VIP hack that never gets caught -but doesn't have much of options- is made by the game company it self for parallel revenue, witch is weird as business model but possible.
Now could the same stuff be done by CCP or their personnel? -history says "something" has already bean done, who believes it's not the case any more?

If you believe there's an allegation to be made I welcome you to send it to internalaffairs@ccpgames.com

Isn't internal affairs part of CCP or any other way founded by CCP?
Howmuch independance can we expect from someone who has to judge the hand that feeds him?

If you can prove to me internal affairs is unaffected by the personal stance of CCP and as a fact is an individual body of ruling then I might consider this anything else than a clever marketing trick.

if market bots exist, and if they dont then botters are either ******* lazy or unimaginative, it would make sense most of them are in the region with the largest trade hub

i would guess there are lots of trial accounts botting in bantams and ospreys too
