Bombardment should be MORE interactive! Something ...more

An eve pilot should have to sit in orbit a bit longer for a bombardment and....he should have fun doing it.

Some skill requiring mini game controlling how accurate your shot is would be great. Maybe balancing signal amps or matching frequencies or having to scan it down...
Some bit of manual aim(+-20m from target spot based on what you see from above)
Maybe timing shots as your aim swings around the desired aim point...something.

Just something....more

You can harass the pilots in orbit assisting the dusters though =D

Your incentive for orbital bombardment isnt the cool gameplay, its the business / isk

If i'm going to sit in orbit and bombard to help out people i want to have fun doing it.
Not have it be chore required of me by my corp/friends

Aiming for the entertainment factor of a pos bash is rather low.

This is never a good argument. If the feature is there it usually needs to be used, especially in EVE, where if a feature is there it is already being used against you. There was a CCP quote from the last CSM minutes, something like "Making a feature tedious will not deter players from using it... they will use it and they will hate it".

We don't need minigames. People have wanted to turn mining into a minigame and frankly I can't understand this obsession.

They can shoot back you know.

Also requires skills to fit said modules.

Also who says defenders wont be trying their best to make your day miserable?

Because it's already just so mentally intensive as is. Roll

I don't always use hax. But when I do, it's because I'm an NPC.. http://i.imgur.com/PUZou.jpg

What's not fun about ruining the day of a bunch of whiny, entitled little 13 year olds?

And then the fun of destroying some whiny, entitled adults orbital bomber to add even more fun.

I'm in.

It's not just going to be a ship in orbit waiting for orbital strike orders, you'll have to defend yourself from ground fire and other ships. It doesn't need to be overly complicated.

Most the complexity is in the logistics anyway, I hope they let us use blackops ships to sneak stealth bombers into orbit of hostile planets and bomb planets (battleship sized missiles should be usable!)

Haha, damn, already? At least wait until it's released.

...Or get in on the beta. If I remember, they said at the end of the presentation that they'll iterate based on feedback.

Trust me, some silly gimmick will grow equally as boring unless we put in a Chess or Go equivalent and the asteroid is set up to be a competent opponent and unless you beat it, you don't get ore. Or maybe an EVE rubik's cube.

You don't lose structure shooting? I thought it was the endgame of EVE. Even more now that not logging in in a supercap isn't quite the same endgame.

TBH I was rather disappointed with the bombardment GFX, maybe more than with the inability to actually aim the bombardment yourself. I mean, where are the huge glowing craters? Where are the mushroom clouds? Even with artillery, you're firing apparently near-c projectiles, some with nuclear warheads. The effect was frankly underwhelming.

Im sure the orbital bombardments are attenuated from your weapons full power or you would destroy friendlies too, not to mention infrastructure and towns and cities. The orbital strikes are presumably meant to be pinpoint.
