Been away for 3 years. Wanted to come back and play. Paid for 6 months, then went to download. Tried each file, auto-download. All versions end up saying Downloader.exe has encountered a problem.

So I went and initiated a download of 2 other games, no problem at all. Cancelled their download after starting them. I remember anything Eve ever put out always being a hassle to download, so I am not worried.

Can someone please let me know how to fix a Downloader.exe error message for Eve please and TY?

the last 2 I can do........ the first one I think its called Executer file or something I get ........

Output folder: C:\Users\aarons\AppData\Local\Temp\nseBFD9.tmp
Extract: 7z.dll... 100%
Extract: downloader.exe... 100%
Extract: library.zip... 100%
eveonline_353549_1of2.7z has to be downloaded
Payload_1: C:\Users\aarons\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\downloads\eveonline_353549_1of2.7z
eveonline_353549_2of2.7z has to be downloaded
Payload_2: C:\Users\aarons\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\downloads\eveonline_353549_2of2.7z
Create folder: C:\Users\aarons\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\downloads
Downloading http://content.eveonline.com/353549/eveonline_353549_1of2.7z;http://content.eveonline.com/353549/eveonline_353549_2of2.7z to Downloading {payload} to {location}
Execute: C:\Users\aarons\AppData\Local\Temp\nseBFD9.tmp\downloader.exe http://content.eveonline.com/353549/eveonline_353549_1of2.7z;http://content.eveonline.com/353549/eveonline_353549_2of2.7z --outpath="C:\Users\aarons\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\downloads" --nsis_hw=1442976

Then says downloader.exe error occured.

Have you filed a petition with tech support? If not, get that started as quickly as possible as they can likely provide much better guidance than your average forum dweller.

That said, first thing I would try before creating the petition is to create a shortcut to the installation and to run it with elevated privileges - e.g. Run As Administrator and see if that helps.

Also, there are some comments here regarding antivirus software protocol scanning corrupting downloads. Have a look through the Issues & Workarounds forum to see if there is anything else of use to you.

Submitted a petition right away. No response, been 3 days.

Also it says you can download Eve via Bittorrent and to choose that option on the next page, but there is no such link. I have also tried to download Eve as administrator, no luck.

I dont get why all the other multiplayer (now downloaded 6) will work, but Eve doesnt. Terrible waste of my money I have already paid, and 46mil sp pilot.

I guess I will submit another petition. Maybe the other one did not go through?

I am lost.

Try disabling your anti-virus and/or firewall software. There are known problems with the new updater etc with certain antivirus

The executable listed here is different from the other executable. Make sure you run the 'offline installer' executable with the two payload files in the same directory. Make sure you're not just running the other 'online' installer

You could always do the trial through Steam, would be a PITA to download the entire thing again but its another option...

Ok it is downloading through steam. (The 14 day trial) So am I going to have to play Eve through steam from now on? Also can I log in with my active info? One more..... If this works can I create a shortcut around steam?

Just so excited it is downloading.

Thanks all for the help. (Not that it is over yet) Just thanks for the help thus far.

I haven't played through Steam, but I'm not sure there would be a work around considering how Steam operates. You'll login with your active info.

Just thought I'd mention it considering you haven't heard back from any tickets.

The other thing to try is to redownload the installer, and try to run it again, also be sure to run the installer from the exact same location as the payloads.
