I have a troll at work that keeps deleting my eve off my work computer, i did do a few system restore but then they started deleting my restore points Sad

I have a 16GB USB flash drive anyone know how i can only put the setup files on the flash drive so i don't have to re-download everything.

Any help would be much welcomed!!

Might be a clue? Dunno anything about where you work, but might be a start. Lock your workstation too.

Put the installed game on the flashdrive, play from there. They will then have to pry the thing from your cold dead fingers to stop you from being a lazy ************.

How will you drive... if you are unable to brake?

Why don't you lock your pc when you get up and leave?

Do you have any idea how many times I would have Hoff'd you by now? Or SS the background and hide the desktop icons? or Sent out a really embarrassing email involving furries that was 'accidentally' cc'd to everyone?

I really wish there was a portable installation of EVE available. To make it work right until then, someone would have to make a wrapper to handle the user files and since that has to work in memory it sort of risks being detected as an exploit tool trying to fool the client into using unsigned assets.

It would be pretty simple, just have a subdirectory in the EVE folder that if it existed and were writable it would use it instead of AppData.

Assuming that somehow it is okay with your management to be doing this - put some work documents in a folder named EVE. When they get deleted inform management about loss of work materials. IT will then look at the logs to see who did it.

Change your password to something really secure and keep the screen locked when you are not there.

That all said - I bet it is against your workplace policy and IT is remotely removing all apps that aren't on the company approved list.

Wait for him to go on a lunch break.

Delete system 32.

Or if you have administrative rights on the computer you use at work, you can do this....

First create a really secure password. Then access the properties of all EVE files. Under the security tab, make it so that only you can delete, modify, or move the file. Whenever he tries to tamper with the file he will have to enter your password and won't be able to do anything.

Driving's no problem. Stopping becomes the issue.

Indeed, it might be worth checking that it's not the IT team and that it is not against policy. If it isn't, there are some good suggestions around here.

What's this guy's name, System Manager? Or, maybe "your BOSS?"

Wow your web admin is an idiot.

You know how many things you can turn off to make an eve install impossible? while leaving everything for business intact?

Use TrueCrypt.

Create a whole seperate partition and use TrueCrypt to secure it. Your sysadmins probably wont even notice its existence.

Or you can just copy your whole eve installation to USB, and copy it back to your harddrive each time you notice its been deleted. I don't think its very efficient to run any game directly off of a USB device.
