Hey everyone

In the past few months I haven't really been doing much other than skilling things and thinking about doing other stuff but never really doing them.

The reason why I haven't done them, is because I just can't figure out how to go at it.

I've tried doing missions but L1's are just way to boring to do them, so I've been thinking about maybe trying out PVP. Which is where I need help.

I'm looking for someone to teach me, not just PVP but everything, someone to run missions with, someone to roam with,...

I've tried finding someone in the past but back then people told me, here's the EvE wiki, find out yourself.

That is not something I want, again, I need a mentor, not a wiki. I've read up way too much and have still not started doing things.

Is there anyone out there looking for a mentee? Contact me through mail or something.

I've got a few accounts, this one being my main, also have a salvager (for now the only thing I really love doing)

This is a cry for help, save me from boredom!

Cheers

There's much more in EVE than missions and PvP. For example, exploration is fun and (sometimes) rewarding, but it requires knowledge about scanning, site types etc.
It's understandable when you don't know how to do some things, but you are not left alone with it. There are many corporations having one, specific goal - teach you how to play the game, how to have fun and how to cooperate with others. The most notable example is EVE University, but you can find less general ones, i.e. teaching only PvP or piracy. Look around and join one of those corporations. You need to invest some time in training, but you won't regret that (unless you join a really bad one).

I would even go so far to say you need leadership. Some corps can provide that.

I'm mental, would that help?

Leadership, basically yeah, there's so much to do in the game that I want someone that can tell me hey this is fun go do it. Without telling me, okay train for 3 months then talk to me.

As for the mental thing...No, not it would not help

Please, define "fun". What's fun for me may not be fun for you. A mentor telling you what's fun and what you must do in order to have fun is an awful teacher. It makes sense only when you know what you want to do in EVE and person mentoring you is at least good at it
Being in a training corporation is like having many mentors, showing you different things, but not forcing you to do them (things, not mentors). You can then choose what's fun for you and learn more about it. Additionaly, there's always someone who will answer your questions, help you with skill plan, fittings etc.

One thing I would suggest doing is look at What to do in Eve and see what sounds interesting to you. Once you have an idea of what sounds interesting, look for someone to help you understand how to do it.

Posting a general "I want someone to tell me what's fun" is less useful because people end up telling you what they enjoy, which won't always match up with what you would enjoy.

Guess my phrasing isn't all that it should be, I've got some idea of what I would like to do, I just need someone willing to show me the ropes of doing them.
I like the idea of pvp, exploring,... Everything seems fun just doing it solo without having an idea on how to.start sucks.

Which is why I want someone that's willing to do it with me, I had someone who was "willing" but he wasn't much help because what he did was: here's an article on my site about how exploration works then do it, same with PI,...

Kind off sucks if you want to do things

If you are motivated and want to learn frigate/cruiser PvP, look into my corp or other similar newbie-friendly corps. Having people to fly with is always a good thing.

You're always welcome to contact me if you want help with something, need some practise or just want to have a chat. I'm not online enough (and not active enough, not necessarily the same thing) to do "full time" mentoring anymore but always happy to help people who are willing to put in effort.

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

Fly with other players. Whether they're other new players, people with a bit more experience, or jaded veterans, EVE is a sufficiently complex game that there is literally always something to learn, and other people may enable you to do new things you couldn't before, and they might know something you didn't.

I mentor newbies in-alliance, but there are other, good, open programs out there. There are also some ancient public mirrors of our wiki out there that have some mechanical information that isn't publicly documented elsewhere (to my knowledge). If you have any interest in PvP, learning what you can do, how you can work with others, and what the rules of engagements are is critical to having a shot at winning.

As a completely new player, your best shot is to join a corporation that has good organization and support for the sorts of things you might want to do, and then going out and doing those things. You won't know what PvP, missions, PI, industry, mining, exploration, scouting, fleet commanding, or logistical work is like if you don't go out and actually do it. Good luck.

Which is exactly why I'm looking for someone to show me these things I've tried the corp approach but for some reason it's not working, so now I'm looking for a person or people to show me the ropes

You may want to name your timezone.

What times do you generally log in at? For about how long?

How often per week?

Normally I log on a few times a day or stay on for hours, but due to the boredom lately I just log in a few minutes.
Which is why I need that to change..

I do have my aura on constantly on my cell, and EvEmon too, but the game itself isn't open as much as it should be..

Kinda waiting/hoping on a good reason to be online all day again

Best of luck!

as others have said, sounds like you need a corp in your timezone.

While your waiting, try to go do something hairbrained, like take a incursus on a tour of Null sec battlefields.
The best the game has to offer often involves pulling off the stuff you can't imagine being possible while reading about it.
