I got to waste 3 minutes looking at all the overpirced garbage than I will never get.
I hope CCP didn't pay someone to come up with this NEX idea.

I wouldn't mind the 1000 AUR. If I just didn't have to see that **** all the damn time, I wish AUR didn't show up: on log-in screen, when mousing over wallet, and on wallet window. It's completely useless, even if I'd be interested in AUR it has a very limited use and could easily have been put been displayed in similar ways to LP (and I bet my ass that LP is alot more frequently used, are we gonna have that displayed on log-in screen, mousing over journal, etc, too?).

sweet jeebus this. All this flaunting the space-gold crap is akin to CCP waving their goolies in our faces going "see? People are stupid enough to give us moniez for our goolies!"

Speak for yourself. I had 1k from an earlier handout and with this 1k I had 2k and now I have nice new goggles to protect my eyes from the mining lazers when I look out the bridge window of my orca and 500ARU left over.

That said had it not been free as in AUR given to me I would never have bought anything in the NEX.

That's how the scam works. Next they'll figure out a way to make your goggles obsolete, so to replace them you'll have to spend 4,000 AUR.

I was kind of proud of having 0 AUR and was planning on keeping it that way forever.

Now they went and forced 1000 on me that I don't want.SadSad How can I get rid of it without visiting the CCP equivalent of Tiffany's??
Can I give it away?
Biomass it?
Or flush it out the escape hatch?

This is tragically ironic.

No. What's tragically ironic is
a) this thread being so obvious that we had to divert the subject to at least get something fun out of it
b) that you edited out the "she is wearing goggles and none of you get it" part

AFK-cloaking in a system near you.

I have enough AUR to buy one of those Navy shirts.
I may wait for more eveisreal, or even convert a PLEX to speed things up Cool

When and if they do that I will just go without. I did not need them to play before I got them will not need them if they are gone.

The way I see it:

Some people don't have the opportunity or money to play this game. Even so, they might not have the capacity to enjoy it.

Some people don't even have a roof over their heads, are have the Grim Reaper tapping on their door too.

I ignore the aurum in my wallet and enjoy myself, happy to have the time to log in and actually play.

You could have done that without a thousand free AU. And in a way, we paid them to come up with the idea.

Thanks to this free handout, I was able to buy this smashing new shirt for a mere 10 mil ISK.

Wouldn't have paid more tbh.

IF CCP got all 300,000 accounts to buy 1 PLEX with intelligently priced goods - they would have made $2,000,000 over night in one weekend.

Instead, they're lucky to make a few hundred dollars off some trolls.

The worst part about this whole free Aurum thing is that you know CCP are using the over inflated numbers on Nex items sales from the give away in order to justify their MT plans to investors and the industry.

I can just hear Hilmar saying, "Yeah, some players are a little upset about the Nex store, but look how many boots and goggles we have sold. Clearly the majority of EVE players are willing to pay for vanity items, despite all the negative feedback that seems to be out there."

Thanx for the AUR. Now if I could only give it to someone cuz there's no way in Hell I'd support the NEX store.

Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try.
