I don't appreciate it permanently hogging 72MB of memory for no good reason....

Once youve logged on, tab out and close the launcher... It isnt hard.

Trust me, I almost know what I'm doing.

Check the launchers settings. There are 2 check boxes in one of the tabs that cause the launcher to open, check for patches, auto launch eve and then close. This is probably your best bet at pretending it isn't there.

Go to the Launcher settings. There you can find a checkbox stating that you can launch Eve without starting launcher if no patch are available.

I disagree!

Easy, go into the install folder and make a shortcut to the Exefile.exe (may be in the bin directory inside install folder). this loads the client without the launcher.

on patch days you'll have to load the launcher but atleast with the last patch it realised and after clicking the popup box the launcher was loaded to patch.

There is a wonderful world of settings for the Launcher if you just click the spanner/screwdriver button at the top right.

More information about the settings can be found here: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/EVE_Launcher

Cascade, I only have 3 tabs, the most used one (afaik) called 'startup' is m.i.a. Cry
Any idea when we can expect the missing tabs to appear on the Mac launcher?

This is my signature. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.  Without me, my signature is useless. Without my signature, I am useless

Hi,

We have an update for the Mac being worked on right now. We're aiming for a release this week and publishing patch notes today.

72MB?!

Wow that an entire half percent of my available (non-virtual) RAM. That's a memory hot alright.

In what world is 72MB a problem?

Do you have a mac and can't afford to pay $4000 for 512MB more ram?

In a world with lots and lots of bots running on the same PC perhaps?

Was going to make a piechart, but the 72MB didn't even show, compared to the rest of the 12 GB
Edit: Also, mfw I saw the OP

CCP Cascade, this new Launcher and update is a disaster. Even after running repair three times, I cannot login. I now get a timestamp verification error every time I hit the "Play" button. A notice following each repair tells me that there were errors during the repair. As far as I can tell from forums, this has been going on for a week. When will you fix it?
