CCP hasn't said they are going to be NERFing Incursions.
Yes they have. It's in the CSM reports and in the various threads on the topic. This alongside a couple of other reduction in the larger faucets (such as the aforementioned BS bounty reduction).

I read the CSM report it does not say Incursions WILL be NERFed it says CCP will take their suggestions in consideration...
unless I missed something If I did miss a specific NERF please cite it's page or give me a link to a non wall of text that is not searchable to a specic CSM quote. Thnx in advance

Please start listening to the 23 minute mark on ( for 5 minutes or so ) of this audio http://www.evenews24.com/2012/03/19/eve-morning-weekend-report-31912/ and you'll hear why overall we are experiencing a desirable rate of inflation over undesirable defaltion that was pre 2011

One thing I always hear in these forums is that ISK sinks do not keep up with the faucets... one number I never see under sinks is what I believe could be one of the largest ISK sinks: non returning subscribers. Has there ever been a QEN number on that or has anyone ever tried to put a number on that ISK sink?

Deflation is a death spiral that will lead to the end of eve. What happens in a deflation is money can progressively buy you more and more items. So people will have no real motivation to buy anything because their money can just buy them more tomorrow! And so nobody buys stuff, things get even cheaper, resulting in nobody buying stuff.

I'm sorry, why is deflation bad again? I mean, it's not like we have government debt issues to deal with in EVE. Nor do we have vast credit markets. The EVE economy is pretty much "cash only" apart from private deals between players. Deflation encourages saving, but that is checked by the pew pew which encourages spending because flying around in a rookie ship with a fat wallet just won't do in this game.

Yes with deflation you make less isk. But everything costs less. This is absolutely not a problem.

Also, lol @ all the Keynesians.

In gaming terms deflation is bad because unlike with inflation it becomes profitable to do nothing with your iskies & sit on your big fat butt instead of interacting in a MMO

You know, I've actually seen mudflation in action and the idea of rampant ISK flowing into the economy really worries me. BUT, CCP has their eye on the problem and has suggested several courses of action which stand a good chance of staving off disaster. Also, they have actual economists while I'm just a mathematician/software developer.

The following graph http://go-dl.eve-files.com/media/1203/EveMonthlyInflation2003-feb2012.png shows eve had experienced a few deflationary periods ( were they lulls in wars or the opposite? ) and at the beginning of Eve 1 huge hyperflationary period & 2 smaller large inflationary periods. I'm guessing the economy getting placed into the players hands increasingly evened out the first wild whiplashes but currently we seem to be moving to an evening out out of inflation instead of a rise.
Looks like the blip in the month of Janurary upward corresponded to the blue loots differences ( 10 trillion versus 6 trillion I hear the next month? )

It is my understanding that there were 10,000 PLEX 'seized' from assets of BOTS perma banned ( I heard Dr E said this during today's fanfest I missed it unfortunely is there a youtube or CCP link to replay this talk? ). Seems to me a good ISK sink would be for CCP to sell these on the market.
The banned BOTs were creating minerals & ISK that was introduced from ISK & MINERAL faucets ( mission & mining bots ) shouldn't they be thrown back into the marketplace to counter balance the inflation that was caused by these players illegally gaming the market?

Dr. E is talking about setting up policies that will govern the seizure of PLEX from permabanned accounts. This has not happened, and is not a foregone conclusion.

But how then are the ISK rewards calulated for Incursions? Are they not proportionate to the number and type of rats you encounter?

ISK rewards are given as a fixed amount per pilot, per site.

As an example, the three Vanguard sites are Nation Mining Colony, Override Transfer Array and Nation Commander Outpost. In a fleet of 10 pilots, the payout is 10M ISK for the fleet measured as completing the site. A poorly skilled, fitted and flown fleet will typically complete these sites in under 30 minutes. A well skilled, fitted and flown fleet will complete these sites in under 3 minutes.

These sites are able to be completed in such short timeframes due to completion being triggered by the destruction of key NPCs.

In the OTA for example, there are three spawns of "Deltole Tegmentum" accompanied by two "Auga Hypophysis". There are various other ships in the site including webbing/scramming/jamming frigates. To complete the site, you need to kill the third Deltole Tegmentum. Thus to complete the site in the minimum possible time, fleets will kill the three Deltoles in quick succession. Once the site is "completed" the remaining enemies warp off.

There are more details about each site, including blitzing strategies, on the BTL incursion information web site: http://www.eve-incursions.net/

Hope this helps.

Dr. Ejyo said he'd like to put dynamic taxes to self regulate the ISK inflow and outflow.

As of now if I recall correctly we have an income of 50T vs and outcome of just 26T.

This leaves 24T in the system. Maybe some people don't realize this, but 24T means that basically the ISK faucets must be halved to bring the balance back.

This will mean nerfing incursions but also other things across the board.

As has been shown bounties are triple incursions as an ISK faucet if there's a need to nerf that is where the real ISK faucet is. Wormhole blue loot is some months still more then Incursions ( although there seems to be 1 months were it was less ) with NPC orders I guess that is easily regulated to turn off that faucet? I have been told the real money to be made in WH's is in the nano ribbons ( I guess a sort of mineral faucet like moon goo is a catalyst faucet? )

I see why incursions are an easy target but they are far from the best one IMHO.

Another sink I rarely see mentioned is unsubscribers whose isk 'disappears'

It's completely irrelevant whether incurions 1/3 of some other faucet, all will be subject to scrutiny. Though incurions were explicitly mentioned as target, after all it's a minimal minority generating that third of ISK and they do that by abusing the game mechanics.

Finally, unsubscribed players can always come back, so that cannot be put in a "sink" balance. At a maximum, it's in an "unrealized sink" balance.
