PLEX Rise in price -> More people buy GTC and convert to PLEX for more ISK -> Market gets flooded -> PLEX lowers in price -> Less GTCs are bought to be sold for PLEX -> PLEX Rise in price

I don't agree with the simplicity of that analysis. Player habits also change when people start PLEXing. I can't speak for everyone, but I've noticed that I have a tendency to abstract the dollar cost of PLEX when I am thinking of my little internet spaceship empire. When I started using PLEX to fund my subs, I thought "hay! this is frickin' sweet! Now EvE is free-to-play forever!" ...but of course it is not. So when times are thin I feel like I need to spend more time getting ISK to buy PLEX... which is not true at all. If it takes 2 hours to make 1 PLEX you are doing it wrong. An RL paper route pays better and at least you get some exercise. Still... it's the thinking I typically lean towards when I am NOT thinking... which is a lot of the time. Big smile

I think as more people get "addicted" to PLEX, the minimum supply / price floor goes up, and after inflation, I think that more than anything else is causing PLEX to go up in price. One other thing I've been thinking about is what happens this week at the CCP keynote? If CCP really delivers... if they can actually make the bittervets believers again, all those nutters with 10+ accounts inactive might start actually resubbing their accounts on PLEX. If that happens... well I hope I'll have PLEX in my hanger already because there is no telling how high the prices would go.

I started a thread 2 weeks ago. 4 accounts, 2 Plex run me $95 real cash. Thier "deal" was putting me $105 for 6 rather than the regular $115 for 6. I got lots of feedback trying to make it seem rational but **** before the shovel, none of it explained why I should give CCP more money for the same thing.

There were 1800 Plex in the forge under 500 at the time.
Now there are 140 Plex in the Forge under 500.

I sold off a bunch of over priced battleships I had in reserve and bought 4 Plex, cancelled my auto payments. So if high Plex is a problem? I am part of the problem, not the solution. Enjoy the $15 CCP. Just not my $15.

I enjoy the fact more peasants are grinding hard enough that my disposable income goes further in-game. Feels good to log in and see the rabble hard at work in their incursions, knowing that next week i'll be able to fund a month's pvp with even less cash. Cool

I feel cool since I bougth a 470M plex as soon as the news about PLEx being used to fund fanfest HD came to my ears, which I will use to pay for my next month in the event of the prices not going down again before then, and I purchased a Quafe Iteron for 350M without need of using a full PLEX on it.

Mostly a combination of people who keep prices high from speculation and increased demand due to fanfest.

Also Real life economy is a factor. People have less real life money to spend, as a result more people buy PLEX, but less people buy GTC's.
