Exotic Dancers

The female gamers I do know are not in the least bit offended by exotic dancers and vulgar language. Girls can be more disgusting and far more carnal than many men, and that includes 50 some odd year old women, who I know for a fact are women. Some of them are the first ones to throw off their clothing, or dress like $5 back alley slag, in a game, and laugh in your face over it.

Eve is a game based around conflict being resolved with guns. Women are more intrested in cooperation and they tend to be two steps ahead of men when it comes to dealing with interpersonal relationships. If Eve had a way to resolve conflict via social means, that required more finesse and backroom dealings than in your face violence, they might be more interested.

We men may think Eve is a complex game, but it's not. It's very simplistic, add up some numbers, min/max and go shoot something. Eve pays attention to the sort of complexity men like, not the sort of complexity women like.

I think the sex and/or gender (not the same thing, you transphobes!) of the exotic dancers is much less disturbing than the fact that you can trade them on the market and keep a GSC full of them anchored at some deadspace bookmark. Not that I would do such a thing.

Can't place them in GSC's. It restricts their ability to dance.

Confirming females do not play eve because there are no male exotic dancers.

We all know there are only about 50 female players and people have been wondering what the reason may be for that. Some of us read the blog about the offensive language we all use. But did anyone ever take a look at the ingame items? Right there is a reason why there are so few female players

Yeah we have Exotic Dancers, female and thats nice. Because every capsuleer gets bored sometimes while sitting at a gatecamp. But really, to also keep female players entertained there should be Exotic Dancers, male.

Or at least remove the ", female" part from the current exotic dancers so female players can have those in cargo without breaking their ingame rp, you may want to change the icon in that case too, so i guess just adding a male variant would be just as easy.

And then when you finally added male Exotic Dancers, maybe we will someday have a few more female players piloting internet spaceships ;-

Thanks and please now get on it and do it CCP ;-)

to be fair, "exotic dancing" in real life is any number of certain traditional dance-styles, tht only women are allowed to learn. it was adapted intot he system of dancing you generally associated with "clubs" for more "adult clientele", and generally, would you even WANT a GUY doing "exotic dancing"? not even going to start on how impossible it is for a guy to do any of those moves, most male "dancers" of an "adult" persuausion cant do more then swing their shlong in circles.

dont even get started on "females dont want to be around because there are no male exotic dancers", my work recently had a party, and by a nigh-unanimous vote, we hired female dancers, why? because majority of the people agrred that guys just arent that fun to watch. to put a perspective on this, my workplace is 80% female employees, but thats expected at a company dealing with shoes.

^^ this man forgets half of eve is meta-gaming, such as using very evrbal persuasive techniques to encourage your new buddy to tell you his alliance's mumble passowrd, or what the POS password on a WH corps capital-dock is.... their is plenty fo backroom dealings and whatnot, its just that not every grunt gets a chance to watch or participate in these endeavors.

(personally know 3 girls who play eve whoa re some of the ebst spies EVER, takes all of 5 seconds in mumble for them tog et in a corp [cause hey nerds love to think there are boobies on the other end of a mic] and by 3 days in they generally have talked their way into geting at elast a COUPLE passwords)

First off supporting what others have said...The lack of make exotic dancers has nothing to do with why so few females play EVE. Thats what we have the marines for after all...All girls like a man in uniform and all that stuff.

But more seriusly.
When you look at EVE as a whole you will notice that EVE does have a smaller playerbase then other online games. This is because of the fact that EVE is made in such an inique way that many people have trouble adjusting to (the sandbox concept). Now add on the fact that its dark, its supposed to be "depressing",and ofc that the majorety of the time you can not see your avatar but only your ship. And ofc..the learning curve, the harsh deaths and the fact that most male EVE players dont fall for the classic "omg i have boobs! give me free stuff!" that many females will abuse and will get annoyed with the fact that it does not work as well in EVE as other online games (yes i know i will get a few comment on that one).

But because of all this its only natural that you will find less female players in EVE then in other online games like WOW as an example. EVE is so hard to get into, and has trouble attractiving the average online gamer to begin with..Now take into consideration that most EVE players are 20+. In my own exsperiense the female population in other online games tends to be younger players (teens, early 20's),and teens tend to not have the patience for a complex game like EVE (ofc there are exeptions).

Well the point is...I dont think you can point to one thing and say "This is why some females choose to not play EVE". The game is unusual in it self, and its not set up to attract the teen/female players (which is a good thing). There is a lot of female players out there and i have never heard any of them complain about there not beeing any male exotic dancers Blink
