We all know there are only about 50 female players and people have been wondering what the reason may be for that. Some of us read the blog about the offensive language we all use. But did anyone ever take a look at the ingame items? Right there is a reason why there are so few female players

Yeah we have Exotic Dancers, female and thats nice. Because every capsuleer gets bored sometimes while sitting at a gatecamp. But really, to also keep female players entertained there should be Exotic Dancers, male.

Or at least remove the ", female" part from the current exotic dancers so female players can have those in cargo without breaking their ingame rp, you may want to change the icon in that case too, so i guess just adding a male variant would be just as easy.

And then when you finally added male Exotic Dancers, maybe we will someday have a few more female players piloting internet spaceships ;-

Yeah, I can see all the housewives flocking to the game because of that. This sounds kind of like a government program designed to encourage certain behavior that inevitably fails time and time again.

If you run into more than 2 a**holes in a day, you should probably look in the mirror.

Really? THAT is the reason women don't want to play EvE?

Not really opposed to having male strip dancer items in the game...but I think this is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

i said A reason, not THE reason, its just one of the reasons but you gotta start somewhere and this is one of the most easiest problems

Edit and no I don't think that even come close to why so few women play this game. Think it has more to do with its SciFi setting. If this was more about dragons and (ughhhh)What? fairies it would attract more women. Thank god it isn't! if I see one more elf or dragon I'll go postal.

The moment you introduce gender specific items like dancers.....

It would make sense to have the naming conventions indicate such:

i.e. Female exotic dancers and male exotic dancers.




Nobody plays eve to look at dancers with their clothes on. Srsly.

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

Also, why limit it to just female or male exotic dancers? I want hermaphrodites!

What makes you think that people with such thin skin as to take offense of exotic dancers would hack it in Eve anyway? They are a lost cause, just forget them.

I think the sex and/or gender (not the same thing, you transphobes!) of the exotic dancers is much less disturbing than the fact that you can trade them on the market and keep a GSC full of them anchored at some deadspace bookmark. Not that I would do such a thing.

when i press quit i get an exotic dancer. try it, maybe it works for everyone.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

Yeah the reason for the "Female" affix is because the male version was added.

Oddly enough they cannot be searched for on the market though.

Confirming that when you do a market search you find "Exotic dancers, female", so they have been renamed. But no "Exotic dancers, male" show up.
