With all the renames and deletes going on, it's getting a bit confusing, so I made this overview to make things easier to understand:

Out of curiosity, did you lose a lot of valuable historic peaces when CCP sh@t all over the names?

It's not all bad, the one middle piece missing in Crucible 1.5 is back in right place in last image. Big smile

That's pretty perfect, and I hope that there's at least one person at CCP who looks at the picture, thinks about it, and feels ashamed, even if just a little.

And yes, Greyscale's caffeine, meth or Ritalin-inspired "cleaning spree" went a little too far. Collectible items are bits of history that should stay in game since they are not game-breaking by any means (even those that weren't supposed to be in players' hands; a good example of that are Hellhounds where a good compromise has been reached: nerfed stats and no more drops, resulting in items that are pretty much collectibles only now). Homogenization continues. Mmmmm delicious blandness! And who needs sand in the sandbox anyway? Have a smooth concrete surface, go nuts.

Spot on.

They're bent atm on diluting the uniqueness to cater for a larger audience - its path to self-destruction, sooner or later. Remember, the phrase "Easy come, easy go".

Catering to the newbies, making the items easily understandable... but at some point they'll become veterans and then they'll agree with the rest of us how stupid these renaming shenanigans are.

As if it's such a enormous hurdle to just click on the info and look up the meta level. A noob that can't figure that out, isn't going to last long in EVE anyway.

And the Missiles are NOT more clear. Having to read through a whole string that in many cases doesn't even get shown completely can't beat a single name if you just take a few minutes to figure out which one is which. And it's not like all their names were totally random.

Yup. And what they can't seem to understand is that there will be no increase in new player retention, just a decrease in old players who stick around to see the game they've loved for years become hello kitty spaceships. Why they can't just fix the bits of the.game that are actually broken instead of looking for new bits to ruin is beyond me.

I like how hellbent CCP are in order to try to dumb it down for the new players but aren't considering the potential impact on older players and those leaving. Each stealth change CCP seems to make shows how they aren't really getting back in touch as they said they were and i die a little more inside Cry

I'm just curious why the Invulnerability field needed the extra 'Adaptive' part.

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

I would imagine that Entity isn't particularly miffed about the renaming - he's probably more miffed about the whole "I delete your items you legitimately paid a lot of money for, and give you no recompense/recourse/reimbursement".

There are certain parts of the game code that no one wants to touch.

Eventually someone will touch it and royally **** up some **** in-game.

But at least they have proper source code backups.
