The launcher was a bad idea to present in its current state. It does nothing but appear to slow **** down (and might not only appear that way ether...)

They should have saved the launch of the launcher untill they had some content for it that players would enjoy.

Like a multi-account/client launcher so i can stop creating symlinks for each account and a seperate icon for each account... simply so i can have each account load in a different screen.

I'm glad they're playing with the Patch system though. I've had many installations broken because of that old crappy patch system. I'd gladly take another 'roll of the dice' and see if this new software is better. So far it hasnt corrupted anything on my end

it does seem slow ("creating patch"??), but i cant tell if that would have been any slower compaired to the old patch system, since we never saw the latest updates with old patch software

It takes like 15 seconds to download. Is it really that big a deal? If so, why?

I have crap broadband (like 1.5mb down) and none of the recent patches have taken more than 8 minutes. I don't see the problem here.

Think yourself lucky you've managed to successfully update to the latest version....

I've been trying now for two days and the launcher keeps bugging out on me and every time it does, the download goes back to the beginning.

Right, because everyday I've tried to log in after updates, I must spend hours trying to find workarounds to actually play the game. This launcher update is garbage.

If you can log in and play with no issues, then good.. but there are many who can't

working flawlessly so far

so my many I assume you mean 1% of the forum trolls and possibly as many as 3-4% of normal users

sounds about average when applied to a vast selection of hopelessly borked machines owned by people who can't help but tinker endlessly with their settings so they can pretend they have a better machine than they can afford.

or worse people who install proprietary software for work on their gaming machines.

yup, sounds about typical for an update

Well part of it may be because the launcher enables CCP to quickly deploy simple bug fixes as they are ready, instead of having to wait until a "major release" to bundle them with.

New launcher is great. It takes seconds to patch and I don't need to restart the client. Very happy.

I just wish the launcher could handle multiple Clients. That would be the **** for multiboxers!

Those are not "client patches" but real updates.

There was only one client patch after 1.5, and then two additional updates 1.5.1 and 1.5.2.

See end of http://community.eveonline.com/updates/patchnotes.asp to see what they included.
