Unable to Download/Install

After not playing for awhile I decided to return and give the game another shot, only to find out that AFTER paying that I can't?

Every time I attempt to download the game VIA Installer it just says "An unknown error occured while downloading the installer payload" and forces me to exit.

Tried manually downloading the payloads and .exe also to no avail. Giving the error "Archive extraction failed: 3"

Kaspersky is disabled, Router is opened/firewall disabled, etc ...

Hints or ideas?

Im starting to think theres an OS issue as well WIN 7 ?

Not sure, your issue isn't quite like mine.

I downloaded the payloads perfectly fine, I just can't run them. You were having issues downloading part 2.

similar issue here, patch downloads and fails to open a file for writing avcodec-53.dll.. crashes, tries to patch again after.. i am running the launcher as an admin..

Yup, same issue is still occurring, theres a few posts about it but no response from CCP as yet. Seriously guys? Some answers? "Acknowledged and we're looking into it" even would be nice.

Just formatted and newly installed Windows 7 32bit, guess what ...


STILL DOESN'T WORK!

Lovely to know that I just renewed my account for this all to happen, good to see how responsive they are too!

Sounds like a corrupt file issue (as in hardware glitch causing one of the files to have a 0 where there should be a 1) Or you have AV installed that is causing it to corrupt the file.

Either way I would reccomend checking your comp with Memtest86 as well as checking the forum post here

You don't understand, EVE worked until this latest patch. When I clicked the EVE Shortcut Tuesday/Wednesday it popped up saying it was corrupt and needed a new install. Went through the process of attempting to install in multiple different ways, all failed.

Why would a handful of people all be getting the same error all of a sudden? Highly unlikely that we would ALL have the same Hardware issue within 24 hours of each other ...

Also, how does that link relevant? 64bit =/= 32bit
Also those people were having issues with ESET AV, i'm using Kaspersky as previously stated.

Fresh format/re-installation of Windows7 32bit includes not having ANY AV installed yet, and still failed.

Why would everything else work if it was a Hardware issue?

Now we are getting somewhere.

I sometimes point to hardware due to the fact that when messing with large files in certain games/launcher, a hardware error may not be apparent until it affects something. When I had my WoW Launcher issue everything else worked just fine so I know your rage.

Though with that list of working games there must be some other excuse here.. 1 sec.

Can you redownload from here

Then patch up using these

Finally getting the final updates till todays update here

Also to download the big files, just incase it is a browser download issue with the large files. Try using JDownloader to get the big files.

I would also reccomend installing the latest version of 7zip and verifying the integrity of the 2 payloads before installing just to be on the extra safe side here.

I understand that. This time then. Use that JDownloader app to download the large files (or all 3 of them) and see if it is corrupt again. Sucks I know but I have seen stranger issues.

CCP must have updated the files in the last few hours, I just downloaded the files during our conversation (Third set in last 6 hours) using the same Browser/Settings/Situation as the previous ones, they are currently extracting.

Hasn't got that far before, so it's a bonus. Will update if it's successful or not.

Fully Installed, going to attempt and patch now. Seems that what ever the issue was CCP fixed it, as I haven't changed ANYTHING in the last 3 attempts to install. This is working without a hitch so far.

I'm still getting the same error, Archive Extraction Failed: 3.

Just built the computer, just downloaded windows 7 ultimate, updated my drivers.

I have been trying to download it now for a couple of days, i can and have downloaded both payloads, but the executable is where i get the error message.

The previous issue mentioned in this thread was resolved. So those of you who are having issues after this time, it is most likely something other than the what was previously discussed here.

Have you tried redownloading the payloads and the executable?

i'm getting the same problems, same message and going in circles re downloading the client and the offline version.....just when i was hoping to rekindle my love affair with this game...... will petition for refund
