I could use this to hate on CCP but it's Spring Break in NA.

CCP Srgeegs has said he has started a new, persistent bot killing effort. I hope its not episodic, like a wave every 2 weeks. Then the bot runners just got to time it and move assets just before the next wave.

I do note that its been about 2 weeks since the last wave, so many accounts just came out of ban. Those botters may have started a new account to bot on, figuring it would hide their activities. But when CCP Sreegs bans you for botting, he bans ALL your accounts. So maybe a bunch of botters who thought they were being clever just had a pile of accounts banned.

I also hope hes found a reasonable way to remove ill gotten assets. Otherwise the ban would just become a cost of doing business.

I recently closed 6 accounts myself basically because CCP has taken this awesome game, and bashed the crap out of it into something almost resenbling the fun game of EVE we used to have.

Too much of the game is broken as far as pvp goes with bugs disconnects and other stupid crap and CCP feels it is still better to release more shiny stuff and carrots than to fix the game as a whole.

Basically, Hilmar lied to us about concentrating on fixing the game.

Wow.

Anyway, in Reality.................

Yuppers, it's peaked today at 41,000 but had been peaking closer to 50,000 Friday and Monday and most of last week, so this is not explained by the last round of BotBans. New BotBans already maybe ? It would be funny if its QQ Ragequit over the Titan nerfing. Doubt it though. Or....surely not this many Geeks are busy on this Pi Day (3/14)......

No, it's explained by it being a Wednesday, which is always a fairly low-populated day, usually fighting it out with Thursdays and Fridays for the “lowest pop of the week“ slot. The difference between today and previous Wednesdays fall well within the realm of a botban explanation.

And no, Fridays haven't been in the 50k region for… oh… ever (or at least not for as long as I've been collecting data, since mid-May last year) — Saturdays and Mondays have been known to peak above it, but that was before the Incarna population crash, and they haven't quite recovered to those levels yet. Only Sundays have gone above 50k in recent months (starting with Crucible 1.0, with a predictable dip below that during Christmas and new-years).

Argh. I'm confusing my 40's and 50's P

Indeed this does seem normal now that the day has gone on. Yesterday's and this morning's low numbers must have been 'trouble with the launcher'.

That would be my guess too. Patch days have always been a bit low, and a patch days with a new way to patch your client and log in is bound to feel that effect even harder.
