Pretend you're a leader of some people. Pretend you experience what you may feel is first contact with an extraterrestrial sentient person like yourself such as the other users here in this portion of cyberspace.

Ask the poster below you this question:

Who do you follow?

Answer the poster above you and then ask the next poster below you the same question.

I follow the person with the most beer... alien beer to make it at least partially relevant.

But what is alien beer made of?

It should be large, new, and monochrome--preferably an inoffensive shade of gray or brown. You never know which pattern or color might offend the photoreceptors of another species.

I follow Almighty Dollar. Dollar is a kind of points system. Sometimes government-issued pieces of paper are used as vouchers, representing a certain number of points. You can trade those, sort of like PLEX. But you don't need to use the voucher papers, you can also trade points using a kind of virtual tracking system. (Exception: Some people who don't want to pay the government tax on the points they receive will only accept physical vouchers). The virtual tracking system is about the only thing on Earth that works really precisely. That's because maybe 4 billion adult individual point-holders are monitoring their point tallies very, very closely.

I need Dollar points for about anything I do. If I want to eat, I need points. If I want to sleep in a bed with a roof over it, I need points. To get points, I have to work for people who have more points than I do. If I could get a lot of points together at once, I could use them to make other points. For instance, I could lend points to people, and they'd have to pay me back more points than I lent. It's kind of like Dollar lets points reproduce when they congregate and hit a certain threshold. It's a good deal-- your points are working for you, and you can be making a lot of them while you're just sleeping or playing golf.

The only thing that Dollar doesn't require points for is sex. I can do that for free. That's one reason sex is very popular among people who don't have many points. But of course, for sex I first have to have a partner. Getting the partner, and maintaining the partner relationship after that, requires a pretty big investment in points. So actually Almighty Dollar is pretty much involved in everything, and that's who I follow.

That could make you seem neutral or submissive. Submissive is ok, if you don't mind becoming the ***** of another species and conforming to their ideals and wants. Neutral is a bit better, unless the aliens share Zapp's view on neutrals.

Quote:
Zapp: I hate these filthy Neutrals, Kif. With enemies you know where they stand but with Neutrals, who knows? It sickens me.

Point being you're better off taking what you prefer and not catering to their likes, since anything you do can potentially cause issues anyway.
