Reintroduce standings info from other players (standing tab for faction and corp standings)!

What about the standings tab on the character info from other players while in space? We want faction and corp standings back into the game (You can leave agent standings out)!. Removing this function has nothing to do with lag reduction. Noone and I say NOONE will click other player "standings tabs" while in a fight. And if you possibly want to generate "lag" you still can click your own standings while in space. It will still load several seconds (depending on the amount of standing entries)

If you cant see other players standings ->
-roleplay gets hard
-no standings push services possible (without api s*h*i*t)
-difficulties to set up high sec pos (no standing info about new players in corp)
-no "show off" of cool 10.0 faction and corp standings.

I'm going to lose patience...a DEV said on the forums a few months ago that you will bring back in standings....you had enough time now...

SO BRING THEM BACK IN ASAP!

Thanks.

Yes, please!

How else can I properly brag with all the corp standings I have collected.
And no, CCP, I will not buy pins for Aurum that I can stick on my character.

When was this? I kept an eye on the standings removal thread on the old forum (and kept necroing it) and never saw anything to this effect.

I would say that agent standings were useful, from my perspective the tutorial and career agents in particular used to tell me where a new player was in the tutorial sequence... Now maybe most of the considerations have been with regard to 10.0 standing L4 agents but...

The OP makes some good points, and CCP should take note.

Gotta love the sarcasm in the replies here . When some one has anything of value to say all anyone seems to do is troll .

How ever i do agree with the op . Corp ceo's at least should be able to view members standings for several different reasons .

First off is the refining and manufacturing . I cant see my members standings so i dont know who has good standings for the npc corp where we have our offices . So i cant tell who to give rights to access hangers for refining ores and so on without a huge loss if its for refining . Then you also have the problem of the corps faction standings when trying to launch and anchor a pos . Its a big restriction for corps that want to expand but have a lot of members . I dont know any corp ceo that wants to kick half of his member knowing that he/she may not get them back .

It should not be a big problem for CCP to do this . The only restriction i would put on that is that standings are only viewable when members are in a corp and the standings are only viewable by thy corps members .

Dump it to a cache daily, and allow the API to query whatever is needed (or just pull everything for a specific CharacterID). If possible put in some basic access rights (i.e. if you're not in NPC corp, only corp members and +5 and above standing can pull this API).

Since its then cached, showing it in EveGate probably would not be an issue either.

That pushes the problem over to whomever needs it, instead of changing the client interface again.

You don't know this? Ok, I will walk you through checking your corp member's standings.

I'm not a CEO. I'm not a Director. I am a member. ANY member of your corporation can do this with ANY NPC entity, that standings are associated with, in the game and here is how it's done:

1) Bring up your character sheet.
2) Go to the "standings" group from the left side of that screen, under your char's picture.
3) Bring up the info on any agent, corporation or faction shown in the list (click the blue circle with the - i - on it)
4) Go to the standings tab on that information screen.
4) Right-click your CORPORATION'S entry in the standings portion of their info and "show composition".

That is everyone in your corporation that is effecting your organizations standings with that group, from highest to lowest, with only non-zero standings shown. It also only shows BASE standings, not with connections/diplomacy effects but this is no different than before.

Now you CAN just type in a corp name or agent name or whatever highlight and auto-link, search for them via people & places - or shuffle around through lists of agents/member corps until you get to the one of interest but the above are simple instructions that anyone can follow vs "type in.. search for..." yada.. yada... yada...

Note: The above won't work if you are in an NPC corporation; only player corporations can see this kind of info on fellow members.

As such - being as all members of a corporation can see the standings of other members towards any NPC groups - what reason do you find for exposing this beyond the OP's seeming: "I want free intel to gank mission runners!!!!"

RP? Forget it. In real life you don't know who's popular with what groups unless you get info from them and check on it - no "standings tab" to look at so get them to join and look it up or... Bluntly - learn how to role-play a bit better. Either join them or have them join your corp and see what shows.

Anyone outside your corporation doesn't deserve this kind of free intel but it is available to your members - between members and not just to management - a bit "odd" but acceptable to most.

I agree fully to dosperados's point and support his request fully myselfs.

Also my reply to the trolls in here replying to his request in this distastefull and totally unaceptable manner better before trolling a serious person with a serious fundamented request and point think a bit before why and for what reason he brings this up, since the removal from the Corp and Faction standing visibility totally ruins a whole branch of jobs and services within new eden.

Also please have a bit respect to those players beeing in the game since its start cause some of them like dosperado really have earned it.

Sincerly

I fully support this idea. The reason to reduce lag is nonsense. As stated above, no one will look at the standing tab of an character, when he is in fight with him.
Following CCP's argumentation, they must remove the "Employment History" of all chars in EvE. There are chars out there whose list causes massive lag, when you have a look at them. Blink

I believe to remeber, that there was another reason for removing the standing tab. It was to reduce the chance of harassments. No one should see where the mission runner will flight his missions. This is also far away from any reality. If CCP wishes to reduce this kind of harassments, they would remove locator agents or would change the wardec- and CONCORD mechanics. Furthermore no payout for ship losses to concord.

I see no valid reason to hide or to remove the standing tab of the characters in EvE. It brings more annoyance than improvements for some playstiles.

I also say: Bring back the standing tab for all characters. At least the standings for factions and corporations.

If CCP would like to hear my compromise; I would suggest to handle the standings like the current certificates. You can show them or not. All you have to do is set the radio button in your character sheet.

OK, I just tried this rather obscure method ... it does show the list of corp members contributing to the standing, but doesn't seem to show any individual standing numbers, so you can't tell how MUCH they're contributing (or even if they are negative!).

Sorry, this seems totally useless to me ...

+1 to bring back the standings page viewable by everyone!

As i said available to the corp and its members only not everyone in game . I dont care about members standings until they are in the corp and we have plans to move forward . If other corp members see the standings they can help out those individuals which in turn will help the corp and those players move forward .

I dont pay to play eve to do what seems like work after i come home from work . Something that should take mins to find out is taking hours or days depending on players availability . If the Faction and npc standings for corp members are available it means i can sort things out in mins and actually have time to play the game . Availability of these standings should only be viewable by corp itself . Not other corps .
