Just taking a sec to post a quick warning. There is apparently a bug introduced with the new patch that causes you to loose your UI, User settings, book marks and chat channels. Including my Overview.

I commonly dual box with two installs in two separate install locations. I had updated one of these installs this morning before work but not the second. When I arrived home I updated again with the hotfix released during the day and updated my second account as well.

When I logged in all my settings were at default and I had lost all my book marks for the in game browser. I can't give better repro steps than that at the moment because I don't feel like installing the patch over and over.

Really wish the update had been tested a bit more CCP. I and I assume many others are going to have to spend a lot of time getting things set back up now.

Posted on main because I'm not a coward like the rest of you.

Yeah, same happened to me.

CCP, and especially the dev and team responsible for creating and QA'ing this launcher - come the **** on. Really now.

Because of your shortcomings and/or oversight, I'm now going to be enjoying the next few hours remaking custom overviews from scratch for a bunch of accounts and toons. No, this is not how I envisioned spending my evening.

Yup. This is a really basic test. Should have been ran.

You're not the only one.

Let me state that everything was fine for me but, not for my alt. I'm using one installation of the client. Logged my alt on, jumped him through a wh and the problems started. Dscanned, found neutral POS. Warped to it. Dscan says the POS and all mods are 0km away. But I'll be damned if my alt can actually see it. Nor does it appear on the overview.

Decided to warp my alt back through the hole to try and fix this with a cache reset. But, can't see the hole. It's not visible nor is it on the overview. I know it's there. It decloaked my alt. So, jumping back through is a bit problematic at the moment. Cleared cache anyway. Still the same problem. Guess I'll get to reset ALL my client's settings. Joy! Lets hope having to recustomize the client fixes this. I'll keep you posted.

Edit: Clearing all settings did fix this. Joy, I get to recustomize the same client for 3 accounts now to fix one of them. Thank you so much CCP!

This has been fixed in version 1.09 of the EVE Launcher. Your settings and cache should still remain in your in their original folder (see: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Clearing_the_cache_and_settings). The bug entailed creating a new, empty cache folder.

Alright. Well I've already set up my UI and settings again. The problem is that something so basic was missed in the first place.

As far as I can tell simply starting the client a handful of times should've been enough to catch this. It's like no one even looked.

GREAT. Just great. I've already blown my CCP/EVE fiolder under AppData away to start with a clean slate and you post this.

I'll withhold any further vitriol, as I think the royal you get the message that I'm rather steamed.

Thank christ for that. Now, how do I get it all back? I'm running the Steam version and can see a folder created on patch day with folders modified just now when I logged in. Can I just copy all the crap from my old cache etc folders over or did the launcher change some things there as well?

Disregard, did just that and it's all beer & skittles for me.

You do understand that this lack of basic testing is unacceptable right? Just saying what amounts in my eyes to "We understand that you are upset. So what if we didn't bother to test it before going live... Shut up and get over it." does nothing but anger us even more. I just don't understand what is so hard about you guys running your stuff through basic testing before it goes live. I've seen this lack of basic testing from CCP since 2003 and I'm not even sure why I still expect it... Lack of due diligence is one of CCP's biggest problems and has been for as long as I can remember.
