Fix Gated Exploration Plexes

It's impossible to catch semi competent people inside gated lowsec exploration plexes (ie. tengus with frigate agility).

Remove the first gate on all the gated exploration sites - even things up a bit.

being unable to catch semi-competent people is sort of teh standard for lowsec and nullsec pve. Its never been a problem before, and never stopped people from dying while doing it.

No.

You have to earn your kills, just like everyone else, Snowflake.

Bads will be bad.

JSYK, scanning someone down doesn't mean you're already guaranteed a kill and that's the way it should stay, why should the game compensate for you being bad at this? There's more to it than being quick with the probes. No free lunch for you, it seems, awwwww.

The elite of the fail pirates are not content with just being failures in Eve, they come to the forums to complete the act of self-humiliation.

Hint - if you get there first it's easy to get Tengu kills.

Best way to kill people plexing is to already be inside the plex. Obviously, that doesn't work too well in null sec and it does require hours of waiting but meh.

Anyway, you definitely chose the wrong forums section to post this. All you're going to get is a bunch of risk-averse care bears crying at you.

Those are pirate tears? I think they would need to be a pirate first in order to produce pirate tears.

All I see are carebear tears.

How may I drug you with drugs?

^^ this.

ufkr, just for you i'm going to explain a two ways you can do this.

IN both cases, step 1 is to scan all cosmic sigs in the general area that you want to work in. You'll often find plexes but you'll also find wormholes too, which are great hiding spots.

Variant #1: works best to catch mission runners

Step 2: Get your PVP ship into a wormhole if available. They will be completely hidden even if they're looking for you. You may need a cloak if it's going to take a while or the locals are awake. Put your cloaked scout on the first gate of the plex so you can visually watch when someone comes.

Step 3: As soon as you see someone come and you see the first gate start to activate, jump out of the wormhole, warp to the gate and go after them as quick as you can. You will land in the same general vicinity as your ratter and there's a good chance by the time you get there that they will have aggro, which will just make your life easier.

The good part about this approach is you can use the wormhole to hide the fact that you have PVP ship in the system (ie, you won't get reported on intel).

The bad part about it is that savvy ratters will have a scout on the first gate and they may warp before you can jump on them.

Chance of success: low.

To give you one example of how I've used this, I recently got a Hulk kill in a Gravimetric site using this technique. I came in the system with my scout and saw a hulk on scan and some cargo containers on D-scan called "full" .

I scanned the system and found the grav site and the cargo cans. I also found the Hulk which, by this time, was POS'd up.

As luck would have it, there was also a Wormhole in the system.

I made a bookmark for the "Arkonor" asteroid in the Grav site and made a "contact" for the pilot of the hulk. I remained in system until he logged off and then got inside the wormhole and cloaked up.

Then I went and did my grocery shopping and cooked dinner. When I came back he was online again. I exited the wormhole, warped straight to the Arkonor asteroid and landed right on top of his hulk. 15 seconds later he was dead.

So this technique does work, but works best for things like I just described. For catching plex-er's you need to be more clever.

Variant # 2

For this you will need a cloak.

Step 2: Get your PVP ship inside the complex. Get cloaked up inside before the rats lock you and slow-boat your way to the exit gate inside the first room. Stay there close to the gate but be sure that you're safe from being uncloaked by the rats. A good position to get in is below and a bit behind the gate as seen from the beacon, but not too far. 10km max

Step #3: now you wait. When someone comes in let them clear the first room and don't try to attack them there. Just wait. When they're done they'll use the gate and as soon as they leave you uncloak, get to the gate ASAP and go in behind them. You'll land right on top of them and the delay is usually enough that they will already have aggro by the time you land.

The good part about this approach is it uses the basic assumption of plexers against them, namely, many people think if they just have a scout on the entrance that nothing can happen to them. You can take them completely by surprise.

The bad part about this can be, depending on the complex, that it can be time consuming to get your ship into position while slow-boating and cloaked. Make sure you have "ALL" on your overview when manoeuvring around inside a plex like this.

Chance of success: moderate

In both cases, the golden rule applies. If you want to catch people (like plex-ers) who do not want to be caught then you're going to need one thing above all else.... Patience.

Variant 2 assumes that you are able to cloak when you warp in before getting targeted - which sometimes is easier said than done.

I dunno, me and bear used to be able to get into the last room of the gurista 5/10 without getting aggro the entire way Lol Now THAT was difficult.

Then they went and locked the gates in that plex Cry
