i have one simple question about WiS, are we going to be able to look out of the station windows and see out into space and see other pilots with their ships if they are right outside station or something? i remember from that eve video about dust 514 and the orbital strike betrayal on vanguard and the lady comes n kills that one dude, but in the beginning he was standing near a window in a station looking out into space and other ships flying around off station. am i the only one that thinks its awesome if we are going to be able to do that?

and for those of you who completely disagree with WiS and anything except for the regular station hangar, please explain why because i am confused at why you would want such a static scene when it could be possible to fully immerse yourself in a station environment and be able to look out windows n stuff into space from in station.

So basically you're saying that the ability to look out windows is the most important thing Eve needs right now?

lol not the most important but it would be nice to experience a station environment more than just your room. at least id enjoy that i dunno about others....plus id figure a team was dedicated to station work and that other devs would work on whatever seems to be more important

It's been asked for many times and the response has been that at the moment it's a technical impossibility.. or at the least, problematic.

Hah! I doubt they even have 3 guys on WIS right now.

My evil twin wants to know what the **** ID has to do with this? My less evil twin wants to refer you to this thread where you will find a lot of useful information on WiS and Team Avatar. Myself? I wouldn't even post here.

Don't mind this Harlot. It relishes in the idea it might appear to be more intelligent than anyone else posting. The fact, however, that it isn't even close has failed to dawn on it as of yet. I guess it's like the bad odor that won't go away.

I have a better question, however. When has a game ever turned out to be remotely like the trailer?

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

You are not alone. It does sound awesome. Ah... what Incarna could have been... it makes me sad. In my pants.

Someday...

I don't completely disagree with WiS. I just don't care much for what happens inside as I spend most of my time outside them. You know... flying spaceships? Fully immersing myself in a space environment. Looking out windows and stuff from my spaceship.

Post with your monkey.

WIS is a nice idea but! CCP need to fix other things in the game before they jump the gun and make WIS, there is still a lot thats needing work on in eve with spaceships and stuff.

personally ive seen more people chillin in stations than flying. i dunno maybe its just my area but it seems that more people are in station doing various things rather than actually flying around and shootin stuff or deliverin stuff or w/e.

Doing this from the CQ would be nice, but probably not worth the colossal effort I would expect it to be. Maybe someday.

I would be very happy to be able to borrow the station's camera drones before I undock though. It seems ridiculous that we can't know if our enemies are camped right outside the exit, without a friend outside the station.

CCP has more than 3 employee's working on it. They are called 'Team Avatar' which has 5 CCP employee's at this time.

Well, that could be a first goal. The point is, they don't have that technology yet. As Mashie put it, the CQ currently is a client-side feature and the only functionality it haves is the in-world UI (holograms).

it's kinda puzzling to try to figure what they did expect to do with Incarna, actually, provided it is a single player client side environment and they don't even have the foundations to make it multiplayer.

There is a lot more there on the technology side than is visible in the current Incarna feature set. There's also a lot more work to do though. To ease some of the more worried minds I can say that we have had multiple avatars walking around in the same environment together.

I do have to give you some credit. At least you're not obsessing about getting more space pants like all the other WiS fetishists.
