We live in interesting times; in fact CCP is the kind of company that if things get hairy they instinctively stall for time. That, they certainly have done this week. First of we have the fallout over Incarna, an amazing example of company resource allocation gone wrong. A vision from years ago that has been re-purposed to serve as a prototype for CCP's other MMO project. It rolls out a midst massive controversy, in some cases larger than what has been seen before, this is the pinnacle of community insults. For all the hurf blurf and :promises: we should all stand proud, years from now this is what people will remember.

But CCP have done more, not only have they redefined their level of customer disconnect with Incarna but they have also defined what it really means to fail at communication, both internally a la resource allocation and externally a la CSM.

Naturally, they have caught the attention of the world. Only a few months ago they averted catastrophe over Monoclegate and now they have done it again by committing to their core purpose as a company by managing expectations.

Currently we are seeing _very predictable feedback_ on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having played this game for six years, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what CCP do and less of what they say. Common sense takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change.

All that said, I couldn't be prouder of what we have accomplished as a community, knocking sense into Icelandic alpha males is hard and we are doing it as so many times before! Stay the course, we have done this many times before.

Bravo, sir. I tip my monocle to you.

Whether or not you win the game matters not.  It's if you bought it.

Things i want done in no particular order:

implement establishments
implement the rest of the captains quarters, and their larger versions
expand on wormhole space
ship balance
give soundwave more resources, full stop. give him whatever he needs
fix 'crimewatch' and highsec security mechanics to be less stupid.
put torfifrans back in the director's seat
put oveur back in the director's seat
get rid of CCP Zulu - he has pissed people off too many times
cancel resources for WoD until EVE shines like it needs to
get rid of the nex store
make those faction warfare people stop crying, throw them a bone or two ffs
nuke nullsec powerblocs to hell and back, i wont fly out there because its seriously owned by one or two major powerblocs by and large
implement BFF's 'smallholdings' idea
add another 10,000 star systems
give the live events team a hell of a lot more resources
fire ccp zulu and whoever else thought of the microtransactions idea, they're terrible.

I would say 'we will watch what you do not what you say' but I was beaten to it.

Keep up the good work more Soon(tm) and empty wordbytes, they really do make our day and fill us with a warm feeling. It is good to know when you click on a dev blog that the content is worth the time taken to click...

If you choose to deem this information.
However, it is information devoid of an value, substance, or verifiable fact.

We have heard a lot of words from CCP over the last few weeks. It's all pixelated hot air right now.
CCP needs to act. And some unidentifiable time in the future labeled "Soon" does not cut it.

We've been waiting for weeks and months for actions, not for more words.

It is frustrating to have it confirmed that they haven't even STARTED acting yet.

They should have made decisions months ago and the actions should be showing fruition by now.

We can sum this up as a bunch of HOT AIR easily. Incarna is a failure and they don't want to admit that.

Fixed it for You. The only concrete definitive things about that blog are:
1. It confirms the blog from Torfi is real
2. It came from Zulu.

Yea well...

It would be easier for them to promise somethingTM to make people happy and (maybe) deal with it later when same people think that soonTM time has passed.

I believe that zulu is really trying here, so lets at least give him fair change. I would be more worried if he had posted awesome blog with full of junk and tried to push it with impossible development timetable again... We all know where that road leads.

The right response would have been for them to have actually done something by now, other than talk.

People with plenty of ideas do things without planning or thinking and hope for the best.
People with research skills won't do anything without solid facts and planning but often need little pushing to get started.
People in charge want turn ideas to products as fast and efficiently as possible, sometimes by cutting some corners.
People with lots of opinnions and friends have plenty to say about things but are often unable to take responsibility about any actions.

"Done something by now" is day for some, year for someone else... In companies with different kind of workers it is usually something from between (thankfully).

I would have to agree, to a point. When it turns into bashing I think that is a bit much. Declaring your opinion on things you like or don't like is fine but bashing well not so helpful in getting things accomplished.
