Vangel Ship Bonus Question

Ok - so I just noticed the Vangel variation of the Maller.

"Role Bonus: 50% bonus to repair amount of armor repair systems and 50% bonus to missile launcher rate of fire."

Noob question coming up....

Ok, so I understand the Armor Rep bonus.... if my module reps 10 hp/s, + 50% bonus (5), it now reps 15 hp/s.

How does the percentage work with Missile Launcher Rate of Fire. It got me thinking about how the Rate of fire bonuses from other soources are applied too.

lets say my rate of fire is 10 (i.e. 10 secs between shots).
50% of 10 = 5
Current Rate of Fire 10 - 5 (50% bonus) = New Rate of Fire 5.

So that 50% bonus has increased the number of missiles I fire by 100%Ugh

Is that how it works?

I obviously cant pilot one yet, but it looks sweet on paper.

Yes, that is how it works. Keep in mind there's no more than 50 of them in game(they were the prize for winning AT9). They typically sell for 25-35b

You never will pilot one - well unless you come up with 50billion or so. The Vangel is an Alliance Tournament prize - there are only 50 in existence.

On your other question - best answer is go get EFT (Eve Fitting Tool) and play around. However your logic is correct, its just that not all the bonuses in Eve work the way the description sounds - it depends who wrote it in some cases, programmer or game designer.

Best to play with EFT, makes life simpler.

Edit - they're cheaper than I thought Lol

Lol, many people can afford it. I can too, if only barely. Although not many people have enough isk that they're willing to buy something that wouldn't be undocked... especially now that CCP removed ship spinning, lol.

Speaking of undocking, I saw a Mimir in Amar incursion system last night, off a station. He docked before I was able to get together a suicide gang capable of taking it though. The thing is small, tough, and keeps moving.P

Man, the idiot was advertising in incursion channel too. Everyone thought it was just troll at first. Would've been so sweet if the gank went through. Imagine the tears...

Kudos to Podcat (Morel Nova) for actually using and losing an AT prize frigate - he's one of the few who have, he had some fun too.

Was a 30b loss at the time but the best comment at the time I saw was :

"Sir you are now an Eve legend".

Its only iskies but 30b is probably near enough 1000€ these days - if you were to engage in RMT, which you can't without breaking the EULA. Not that anyone has allegedly ever bought houses out of RMT or anything like that Roll

The Vangel is what the Legion HAM config should be.

Sincerely hope CCP gets their fingers out of their collective body cavities and sort out the disturbingly poor implementation of the T3's.

That might have something to do with the fact that the Tengu gets a 7.5% RoF bonus that applies to both HAMs and HMLs, where the Legion only gets a 5% bonus to HAMs.

In case you're wondering, that correlates to about a 20% DPS difference between the two ships -- before you consider that a Tengu will be able to fit more ballistic control units.

Please do post a tengu ham fit for pvp that has more than 2 BCUs.

It's only blobbing when you lose, otherwise it's good fleet comp.

Considering that a 5-launcher Tengu has 5 low-slots and nothing to spend them on except a damage control, ballistic controls and maybe powergrid, I really shouldn't have to do this. A 100MN tengu uses way more powergrid than HAMs do, and it can manage three ballistic controls with ease.

Supposing, again, that you'd even want to use HAMs in the first place.

Comparing to a 5 launcher Tengu to 6 launcher Legion would also mean Legion has 1 more ham. Also, the tank difference is incomparable. HAM tengu is a bad idea, it should have hmls, stay at range and out of harm's way. It's true that the Legion sucks, but stop trying to distort it as more that it actually is.
