Thorax +1 Med slot?

It is kinda frustrating that Thorax has 1 slot less than its analogs from the other races

Add 1 medium slot to the Thorax and support it with +25 base CPU. This will allow

1) Shield Thorax with 2 LSE

And I'm sure that all Minmatar ships should lose slots for often higher agility/speed, Amarr ships should lose a few extra mids for their larger capacitors and Caldari ships should lose a few slots because of their higher base sensor strength.

Shield-Deimos with 2 LSEs? Outclasses every other HAC right there (apart from the Zealot due to it's 44km optimal).

Not every ship has to have the same slot-layout like it's counterparts. But hey, maybe you should get together with CCP Ytterbium and argue for 2 LSEs on the Thorax to make it a ship of the line combat ship vessel, because right now it doesn't perform as well in the Assault ship vessel role? Or just go all-out and make it a railgun bombardment vessel?

I too would like extra slots on a T1 cruiser that can dish out more than 600 dps.

The Thorax in the first place isn't really in need of a buff compared to the 3 other tier 3 cruisers...
Furthermore if you had to give it the slot it shouldn't be a medslot. Especially if the reason is to put a bigger shield tank on it...

My thorax popping out 5 hammerhead II's balances out that missing mid slot, IMO


What other non-faction t1 cruiser can use 5 t2 medium combat drones?

The only cruiser that desperately needs another slot is the Phantasm since it does have one less slot than its counterparts.

I think the thorax might get a bit op with a 4th mid
but in exchange for its rather useless high the deimos would get a whole lot better and could actually tackle and keep its targets tackled while not being neuted out by a single med neut also some more pg would be great



but other hacs need some love like that too the munin should get the same treatment etc

The tier system in it's entirety is getting ripped out. Cruisers and frigates especially will be revamped. I predict slot changes, fitting grid increases, EHP buffs... ect. This topic is moot.

the ship does 700+ DPS for a T1 cruiser.. most BC's dont even get that amount and you want to add more slots?

Cruisers are being rebalanced according to the CSM Minutes and multiple recent Dev Posts with regard given to slot count, bonuses, HP and Speed. CCP has just rolled out a Dev Blog with direction of the changes including Ship Lines replacing Tiers. They have stated they will be releasing more info on Balance in upcoming Dev Blogs

I think simple specific changes to Ships are off the table until we see what changes are being made to both the Thorax and its competitors. Seeing as we can not paint an accurate picture of how the new Thorax will be designed or the combat effectiveness of the competition.

I think we are in for a wait until any balance can be discussed with any meaning.
