I wanted to create a video showing how good EVE looks while showing some action as well.
What I ended up doing was showcasing EVE with the UI turned off.

A couple of things to note:

This is not showcasing PVP abilities as in such videos by Kil2, Prometheus etc etc.
It does not tell a story as in the Rooks and Kings Clarian Call series.
It is a visual exercise.

I managed to record footage from gangs I was in, gangs I was up against and also gangs I managed to spy on.
Being a referee in the recent Syndicate Region Tournament (Congrats to Rote Kapelle, Clockwork Pineapple, Flying Dangerous by the way) gave me a great view to do this.

Anyway enough talk more shinny pew pew visuals, constructive criticism is of course welcome:

Details:

Tracks used:
Intermediate Music - Serenata immortale
Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata
Blue Stahli - The Pure and the Tainted
Intermediate Music - Lacrimosa

Length: 9:45

You Tube:

As a visual exercise this is great. It certainly looks good.

Learning solo PvP, one explosion at a time.

All combat ( well the whole video) was on tranquillity in Syndicate, although some was of the Syndicate Tournament as I mention in the OP.

I agree, reading your post was indeed a complete waste of time Roll

OP I quite enjoyed it. I think you have potential for other vids based on this. Thanks for taking the time to make it.

That was really awesome. Great job at showing off the visual beauty of the game. Those of us who have been playing for a while can often forget how good the game looks in amongst all the spreadsheets, eft'ing and overview clicking.

I think it would be cool if you used these really great footage-capturing skills and used them in a narrative piece. Like a fictional short film depicting a small battle or some such thing.

I have been tasked with a new project by a corp mate but I personally will stay away from a narrative piece, as one by an angry Scotsman will just sound strange :)
Or I can get one of the ladies in corp to voice over, failing that there are a few guys who have a face suitable for crimewatch ( a UK programme about tracking down criminals) but a voice for radio.

liked the beginning but when you switched to the heavy music, it was too much of a mood swing for me.

I have had comments about that.
But in my defence I did that on purpose as I wanted to differentiate between the 3 aspects of the project.
Although I may have gone to far.

My first video, so all comments are greatly received.

one way was you could have kept it classical but used a more upbeat piece. Or used a classical themed movie score or something similar. that way, you have the energy you are looking for but without going in a totally different direction.

can't wait to see more videos based out of my home base Smile

I'm liking it very much, there's no real story in it but the visuals make it cool.

Excellence is not a skill, it's an attitude.

I enjoyed it although Sisi footage really needs to be 'staged' otherwise it's usually pretty boring to watch.
You have a great eye for capturing motion and the camera work is excellent.
It reminds a little of the older EvE trailers - CCP could do with using footage like this - it shows off the visuals in the game very well.
