The sooner you accept them, the less therapy you will need....

1. After months of training a race, you suddenly realize the other race has the ships you really want to fly.
2. The weapons you spent months training turn out to be absolutely pathetic compared to other races'.
3. The ship you spent months training for will turn out to be terrible for the type of PVP/PVE you want to do.
4. Your corp mates all use different race of ships from yours and the FCs think your ship is a joke.
5. The moment you finish training for a ship/weapon, CCP nerfs it. There is some sekrit algorhythm for this.
6. Any complaints will be met with either a)learn2play, b)HTFU, or c)go back to WOW.
7. Some other class of ship will completely make your class of ship obsolete.
8. T2/T3/Faction has completely made your ship obsolete.
9. The ship you train because it was the best of its class gets nerfed in the next patch to become the worst of its class.
10. But.. The second you sell your ship to change to another it comes back into style.

Until you cross train and become Chuck Norris. Cool

Cross trained crew checking in. Also, confirming the rules are accurate.

Confirmed that cross training means never being on the wrong end of the nerf bat.

Can mean being on the wrong end of the big fleet combat though.

"What do you mean you can't fly any battleship with T2 guns for the CTA?"
"I can fly all cruisers and frigates with T2 guns..."
"Go train something useful!"

Didn't cross-train, but did focus train a lot of alts. Solves the above problem too. Lol

easy: get....... large laser and projectile turret specializations: yes, it takes a ton of time to train but it's worth it. Spend 2 weeks getting t2 heavy missiles, you're now able to fly in 95% of pvp fleets, in the mean time, train minmatar, amarr and caldari cruiser to V (caldari for the tengu)

Only training Caldari and NOT touching missiles, on purpose. I must be an idiot.

Yep, you are. Whoever would want to fly a Harpy now that it's all good and stuff?

Crosstraining is awesome but takes time and specializing alts needs different accounts to do so and sometimes you end up on the wrong alt in the wrong place at the wrong time for what you intended to do Lol

Can fly every subcap ship between two toons (70% +/- on this one).

I only ever need fly two ships though, the almighty Nightmare, and the humble wolf.

When you do it because it's a + yes.

When you do it because you don't have the choice, but you've already lost at least 6 months that sucks, and at this very moment if you decide to move on you'll probable never come back.

Doesn't matter if you'll finish to cross train or not, all it matters is that for those 6 months whatever you've tried nothing was enough to make that crap work semi properly.
Then you pick a cane, you don't know what to fit in to use all the PG available, you hit harder and far distances with meta guns than with your uber ultra rocky T2 blasters of death you spent months training.

Yeah, cross training because you do'nt have the ******* choice is really an awesome game design...

Worst mistake I ever made in EVE: Crosstraining early.

When I started I didn't understand a thing about specializing and thought that the more ships I can fly, the better I would be off.

Now I am constantly unsure of what I should train next. I train halfway to an Ishtar and I decided to go for a Tengu, I get the tengu, love it for a few months and before I get to see what it can really do I train a Zealot now I'm trying to get back on track with specialization but I suddenly want to get a T2 Minmatar ship!

Watch_ Fred Fred Frederation_ and stop cryptozoologist! Fight against the brutal genocide of fictional creatures across New Eden! Is that a metaphor? Probably not, but the fru-fru- people will sure love it!

wut? once youve cross trained and can fly everything, youve always got the option for the ship needed. your issue is not that cross training is bad, but that you never finish training something. many of those ishtar skills are useful for other ships, (armor tank/drones) so you arent wasting much, and as to what to skill? thats the easy part, finish training those half finished ships you started. start with the first ship you never finished training for.

For those who don't know, there are big changes coming up for ship training lines. Word to the wise, get BS1 in all races quick if you want to skip BCs.

Oh yeah, here's a nice song to go along with training blues. Don't worry, be happy its not the one in my sig.

moral of the story, pick one ship train to max. Then pick a different ship in different race and train to max. Wash and repeat. After a while the months to max skill the next ship will be weeks, and before you know it youve got all the subcaps.

The all your whines are belong to the next guy...
