Hmm, I'm not really sure you can compare a carrier (Archon) to the rest of the dreads Blink

You have shiny syndrome. Honestly, re-read that guidance you've already been told because it doesn't appear you understood it.

You seem to misunderstand the purpose of Dreadnaughts.

Dreadnaughts are bred and intended to destroy LARGE things such as other capitals, POS's, and outposts.
They are not intended nor recommended for solo or small gang PvP.
Dreadnaughts need support from other players to get about the galaxy. They need support from other players to scout ahead and behind for ambushes. They generally need support from other players to do anything really.

A dreadnaught by itself is a juicy and easy target. When they go into siege mode, they're even more vulnerable. To use one effectively you will need player backup.

a dread has only two purposes of which one shooting structures and other is shooting other capitals which rarely happens these days.
A moros used to be pretty good/lulz for ratting but CCP removed the drones so now it's useful for structure bashing and shooting caps. Sad
Also before you think of caps you should consider what yours is going to be equipped with. Please don't be a one who has fitting mods and large shield boosters in their phoenixes with t1 light drones because they don't have skills for anything better and die when they finally realise they can use gates to move around.

I too want glorified structure shooting ship which needs subcapital ship support to survive.

As to which one though, the Rev has lasers (so no reloading ammo ever) which makes it great and the Moros has the highest DPS of the dreads, which is another good thing. The Nag, however, has split weapons systems, which isn't good; and the Phoenix is a shield tank, which also doesn't do well in the largely-armor fleets that you see for cap ships.

The Phoenix is a great structure & POS basher, or other sieged dreads, but is useless at anything else because citadel missiles can't really hit anything sub-capital or even slightly moving super-cap.

Shield tank doesn't really matter in a dread, because it will be sieged and unable to be repped, and if it is attacked it will die. Dreads don't really tank. If it isn't sieged, then a battleship does more damage.

The Moros does the most damage, and the Revelation lives the longest. The Nagflar has a spit weapon system.

I'd rate: Revelation > Moros > Nagflar >> Phoenix

I like rating them by height.

Naglfar >> Revelation > Moros >> Phoenix

Well we could rate them by lamest siege animation too, and the Phoenix would definitely win. Blink

Most people don't even realize it has a siege animation. Shocked

Dreadnoughts are really designed to be used in large groups with other caps for killing structures caps etc.

With this info you need to know one thing regarding your question.

I didnt know any of them had a siege animation. Is there a video? Been around siegeing dreads but never looked at them.

The gun mounts slide out of the hull of the ship to give the llok of them being mounted on weapons pylons, unless you are in the pheonix in wich case a little hatch on the top slides open

The bottom one opens too! Besides that, yes it is the lamest animation for sieging, but it really shoots structures very well. Fitted properly it can compete with the moros for damage. Other than that worthless, for reasons already stated.

Phoenix: Launcher bays open top and bottom, nose slides back to cover mid-section (not obvious)

Nice. Do triaged carriers a have an animation?

All missile ship look unspectacular atm cause the missiles just emanate from the center of the ship. It would be cool when they fix missile animations if the open bays of teh phoenix unleashed an unholy swarm of missiles upon their target.

In the minutes CCP did say they were working on missile animation so heres hoping for a release sometime this decade.

Not that I know of. They get a gold light effect dancing across the hull, sort of like a shield booster. It is much easier to spot.
