Vote Match

I have activated the matching process. You can go here if you want to get started right away!

What is Vote Match!
Vote Match! is a service that allows players to quickly compare their opinions on Eve Online with the opinions of the candidates in the CSM elections. It is based on real world services like Vote Match in the UK and Stemwijzer in the Netherlands. The service is particularly useful for those of you who do not know who to vote for: the resulting matches provide an easy way to cut down the fourty candidates to a shortlist of people who match your views on Eve. You can then use this shortlist as a guide for which candidates to look at in detail.

How does it work?
We have a collection of fourty statements about Eve Online, which can be answered with Strongly Disagree, Disagree, No opinion, Agree and Strongly Agree. Over the past ten days we have collected the answers of the CSM election candidates (all but three who despite multiple reminder evemails chose not to fill in a profile).

Once you fill in the questionnaire, we determine where your answers match those of the candidates, and calculate a match percentage from that. You are then able to see all the answers from all the candidates (ranked by highest to lowest match). In many cases, candidates have added an explanation of their answers, which you can see by hovering your cursor over it.

How do I start?
You can go here if you want to get started right away!

Also please spread the word to your corp, alliance, friends, blog, dog, etc. The more people vote in the election the better!

This may occasionally happen when the server is under high load :/ Refreshing the page a little bit later should fix it.

Figured it out, that site needs a cookie (which I have disabled normally). Not sure if you could make it work without them but it works now.

Some questions are a bit "silly" though, like "production and invention should be made more profitable". Prices are player made, if there's enough idiots who agree to lower (or no) profit and they produce and sell en masse (which they do) then that keeps prices down. There's nothing CCP can do about that.

Also, the survey told me the candidate I was going to vote for was indeed the most logical. Who knew :P

Please keep in mind that Vote Match! is only intended to point you in the direction of which candidates might be good matches for you. You should still try to get to know more about several of your highest matches by checking out their forums threads, websites or talking to them ingame before deciding who gets your vote :)

Yeah I noticed. Some of the questions were very generic, of low importance to CSM and sort of awkwardly phrased, so even people sharing the same views could answer them in a totally different manner. It's helpful though, since it does have few stupid ideas included, so I can immediately exclude anyone who shows any support for those.

Funny line.
This could also translate to "i want more fights to happen."

Maybe formulate your own opnions based on provided guidance. Some candidates do despite its advice and intended purposes.

Oh pretty much like the intended vote match tool perhaps? Blink

Thanks OP for the above guide and for helping to promote CSM interest overall.

This is a good tool. Due to my low match score with any of the candidates it advised me not to vote at all*. Thank you, Vote Matcher.

I like this years version, especially the ability to hide candidates (and questions) that do not matter
