When did this last happen in an incursion?

Yeah all those wars in nullsec are just co-incidence. I count 39 incidences of sovereignty changes in under the past 48 hours, according to Dotlan, and it's not even the week-end. The most violent systems are always null sec systems - 1250 ship losses in Etherium Reach alone in the past 24 hours, 10 times more than Tama.

Null sec is risk free! Once you put a POS on a technetium moon the devs give you a magic pass that means no one can touch that POS or that moon ever again.

Reality: The moons are heavily defended because they are worth so much. HTFU and go take one if you want one so bad. Oh wait, you can't, because there's a huge supercap fleet waiting to hot drop your arse 24/7. That's not called "risk free", it's called defending your stuff. Something empire care-bears just don't understand cos mommy Concord does it for you. Or not.

for a second, imagine tech moons in 1.0 high-sec.

corp/alliances had to grind standings to be able to anchor/charter for towers.
war-decs would be required for contesting it.

Also tech moons aren't ISK faucets like the CONCORD payouts on Incursions (the LP is also not an ISK faucet btw).
People buy the products produced by Technetium granted, it's just money- err, ISK changing hands. Same story as with minerals and PLEX for that matter.

Independantly from this, the risk/reward of moon mining is a different kind than the usual as it is on an alliance level.
I'd rather call it asset loss negation than riskyness because while you need to defend it, pretty much any losses are almost immediately reimbursed by the stupid levels of income Technetium provides - this effect is amplified when more than one such moon is owned.

Technetium moons aren't risky for large blocks because they can defend them, and the many moons reimburse any potential losses.
They are however, risky for smaller entities who cannot adequately defend them.
So it all boils down to the blob and force projection logistics once again - at least when it comes to risk assession.

Technetium does have an unhealthy iron grip on the invention market however; this is something which needs to change.
