I know taking him on will get Concord on my butt ...

What is a good, and relatively cheap, ship/build to gank a Hulk in a 0.7 system?

How about a Retriever?

Edit - I am Caldari but also have a Minmater acct.

Brutix will do it much cheaper. 25m for the hull and then pennies for t1 throwaway mods will do the job just fine. I know a T2 fit Catalyst can do it in a 0.5 for ~15m total. (Assuming he doesn't have combat drones and isn't tanked at all)

Tier 3 BC, not T3. We only have T3 cruisers

scan his ship to see if he has a tank, if no tank then you can do it in a blaster thorax

That's a big "if", considering miner bots nowadays are fitted with anti-ganking in mind.

Yea...I want to err on the part of overppower and risk more isk. I can always tame it down when I get more experience.

If you trained Caldari already then you should already have hybrid skills trained.
(unless you went missiles)

Train for a gank catalyst, shouldn't take more then 2 days. But if you want a guarantee kill go for a gank thorax...

Catalyst can do it if they have no tank. Thorax can manage most tanked and a brutix for all but the best supertanks.

Scan his ship. If he is set for max ore with no tank (likely) then a destroyer will do the job with ease.

Catalyst can do it even if they do have a modest tank with good skills. A gank catalyst with neutrons, void, and some cheap implants can push out almost 700 DPS, by comparison a gank Thorax approaches around 800.

Don't take my word for it though - just check out my corpmate.

2 gank catalysts cost less than a gank BC and can kill any hulk in 0.7 and down.

Edit: To the above poster. Using Void ammo can only be done with T2 blasters which means your doing it wrong.
