As a general rule, I never pay ransoms. Most griefers don't honor them.

They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way! Did I mention, I used to live in Chicago?

Overload everything and go down fighting. Ransom would never be an issue then.

That is a shame. One of the things that I love about this game is that piracy actually works. You CAN get money out of people by threatening to pop their ship. Honestly, it is one of the coolest things that separates EVE from other MMOs. I myself have paid ransom on mining ships over the years. I always used to believe in a "honor among thieves" but this kind of behavior will slowly destroy ransoms for those that do honor it.

Really, people aren't commonly honouring these now either? People can't even pirate properly nowadays...

OP, I suggest you & your friends go to w-space if they want things to happen differently.

Actually before we met this guy a group of us lived in W-space. Was fun then decided to leave.

I still honor ransoms along with all members of my corp and alliance. Just don't pay ransoms to scrubs cus they can't be trusted to have any honour.

We could use a list of honorable pirates so players could have easy access to who can be trusted.
