Just under 10 GB

my EVE folder is 9.8 so the number I put in is where you need to be to play.

5 GB for the client (5.9 for the mac)
plus maybe 300 mb for the other little things (client patches, 1.1 and 1.2 updates, etc).

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Im not a total computer person but my laptop is a older toshiba model that says it has good performance. so im thinking of installing eve on another comp then transfering it over to a USB so i dont have to worry about blue screen of death.
question now is once Client is on USB would i need to copy it on my computer to play it or could i play it from USB.

It should run from the USB, but it stores its settings and other such things on the computer, so it might get confused if you try to move it from computer to computer. At the very least, it won't remember settings such as your overview, graphics settings, etc.

USB can also be a bit slow. I would just run it locally if I were you.

Assuming a 6Gb download (number pulled out of my arse) that's a little under 2 hours.

It's so big it has to iron its pants in the driveway.

It's so big a beeping sound plays when you back it up.

It's so big it can't wear shrink wrap like the other games, it has to have an elastic bag.

Oh, this isn't really one of those threads, is it?

That's a damnable lie.

I have never seen an EvE install clock in at less than 10GB (~12 on a Mac, though that client doesn't work atm). Those numbers are the official numbers, and I have no idea how they came up with them.

I'm downloading the client again on a rebuilt PC, and it's showing a 4.64 Gb main client (assuming to Crucible 1.0).

Clearly that's before unzipping and installing.

Presumably by looking at the size of the file(s) you download, which weigh in at exactly the official numbers.

You're confusing the download with the install size.

Nope, the downloader downlods two files. One is about 5G the other is 3 or 4 gig.

Whats really fun about upgrading an old eve client is that even if you choose to install it on another drive, it downloads to C: anyway and whats even more fun than that is it will extract to C as well.

Really fun for small system drive guys like me, thank GOD for torrents!
