I have a rooted phone (Nexus One with Cyanogen) and have no problem downloading Evanova from the market. The application was unlocked for all Android installs (1.6+) a long while ago. I am little reluctant to put APK files here and there as it would be difficult for me to track versions and such.

Can you provide me with your device and Android details?

Hello!

I apologize for the looong silence, I owe everyone a little update. Thanks for asking!

I had to slow down development the last two months for personal reasons, but I'm back into it full force.

I am currently polishing off the UI for the new features (mostly on the corp side) and adapt Evanova for Android 4.0 (I just got a Galaxy Nexus to test on). There are some quirks with 4.0 that needed to be addressed and modifications to Evanova to integrate with it better. For those reasons, the tablet version is taking more time and holding back the small devices update, to the point where I might consider a non-tablet version update only in last resort. Trying to accommodate ALL the devices is pretty challenging and requires a lot of testing.
There are also some difficulties regarding corporation assets vs what the Eve Online API provides, which makes the Corporation Assets screen very sad to see. I also want to rethink the skill planning UI. I don't like how it is at the moment.

On the coding side, I took some time to write a Eve API proxy server for my testing, made so that it is easier and faster to build Evanova and the item database, cleaned up a lot of the Eve API code and added support for the Eve Central API (for future enhancements...). I am thinking of having the proxy and the Eve/EveCentral API code available as an open-source project, but I just don't have time to manage all those aspects plus work on Evanova. That's a lot of work for a single pilot! :D

On the bright side, Evanova has been accepted on the Amazon Market last week, so hopefully Evanova should show up on Kindle Fire soon.

tl;dr: Will be available "when it is ready"(tm); working on it hard, polishing UI and such. API keys or QR codes for testing are welcomed.

Can Evanova check on corporate industry jobs? I do my production at a POS and Aura doesn't support corp indy yet.

I just have to say thanks for a great app.

And a bump for an updated BETA....

Short summary of fixes I can remember of.

- Notification sound is finally working correctly.
- Fixed a crash when changing the background image.
- Fixed the Wallet screen not showing the last transactions
- Fixed notifications in mail.
- Fixed a small issue with the Pilots details where the "joined corporation on" date was not showing correctly when that info is not available.


Thanks to all who reported issues, helped with providing API keys for testing and other things.


PS: I am still looking for a graphic designer ;-)

Found a bug. I have a Vherioker character that shows on both my Android devices as Civire. EVEMon shows him as Vherioker just fine.

Q: Why are some orders colored green and some yellow? I guess its based on the available quantity? Should be red instead of green for buy orders then.

A: Orders in green are orders that have sold for more than 50% (IIRC) while yellows are items that have sold less. It is actually totally arbitrary coloring...I take any opinion on the matter.

Q: How can I turn of the auto-correction highlighting on certain words? Some words have red underlines..

A: I noticed this happening on ICS devices and further. To avoid the pesky red lines, you will need to disable your device's auto-correct. However, this is fixed in my current code and the next update will get rid of this annoyance completely.

Q: Transactions should be sorted the same way as journal entries, not reversed.

A: I am not sure what you mean here. They are currently un-sorted in the way that they display in the order given by the API. I need to double-check on this though, but they currently displayed with the last transaction/journal entry first.

Q: The mail part wasnt working for me until I enabled notifications settings in my api key as well (just had mail and mail contents permission before).

A: That is interesting. I will definitely look into this.

Q: Its not the most responsive app I stumbled upon. Maybe could use some performance optimization.

A: I know :(
To make it super-responsive will require quite a bit of work. Actually the real concerns are while loading assets and such, and using the gallery or swiping through pilots. I am always trying to make things snappier but a real performance optimization would be to rework the whole app.

This will be Evanova 2.0, available in ...2013 or earlier if Google stop changing the Android API so much.
Having said that, it gets MUCH better in terms of responsiveness with Android Jelly Bean (4.1).

Q: I couldn't set the background to "None". Its just keeps showing the portrait.

A: Noted. I will look into it.
However, note that the Pilots and Corporation screens still have their portraits even though the option is set to "None". I have been debating with myself for a while regarding this.

Do you think the "Background to none" should also drive the display of pilot and corporation screens? What to do when one chooses another background image. Should it also be displayed instead of portraits?

It seems to be something wrong with the notifications for skill training completed. I dont get them for any of my characters. Seems to be this way for both my HTC Sensation and my Asus EEE Pad.

On both devices notifications is enabled in the setting menu.
