A Resumé System to Improve Corp/Alliance Recruiting

I would like to suggest implementing some kind of resumé system to improve the dynamics of all around recruiting. I see the need for this change for a few reasons:

-The recruitment channel, while designed for just that, usually has around 850-900 members (peak time), 125 of which are actually monitoring the channel, 87 of those 125 are trolling, and two of the remainder are actually looking for a corporation.
-Start up corporations have an especially hard time recruiting from the ground up with low member counts, since a lot of players will only prefer to join a corp with a large social base.
-Will alleviate spam Conversations at beginner areas to a degree
-Will give corporations the chance to ensure a player is just as good a fit for the corp, as the corp is for the player
-Give CEOs, Directors, and recruiting personell the chance to take a good look at the potential applicant's capabilities/history/tendencies

This is my idea as to how to actually put this into play:

The resumé page will be included under the 'Recruitment' tab of the 'Corporation' window, and only viewable by members with permissions to accep applications. The actual form, which will be mostly filled out by the applicant, will have spaces for them to fill out somewhat of a bio, as well as what they're looking for in a corp. The rest will be automatically filled in by the game, such as how long this player has been active, employment history/number of corps player has worked for, ships this player is capable of flying, a limited insight into the applicant's trained skills, etc. Understandable that this idea brings a degree of transparency to applicants, but the resumé process would be 100% voluntary. The benefit, however, would be that the applicant's name and information would be readily available to a potential employer, making their odds of finding a corporation that fits much higher.
From the employer's end, they could enter search parameters to narrow results among the applicants, such as what type of corp they are looking for, where they are located, time played, etc, or just view all Resumés. As an alternate form of finding a good match, the resumés could automatically be filtered based on the preferences outlined in the corp's recruiting ad, such as the primary mission of the corp, types of players sought, so on and so forth.
If an employer decide to hire an applicant, they could choose to extend their offer of employment to the applicant, which would be mailed to them and be available for them to review and accept.

I appreciate your time in viewing my suggestion, and I hope something can be done to this effect. Thank you, RC.

Sounds almost like an automated API check of a player. I could see this going somewhere good. I think it needs some polish, but it has some promise.

ya, API + checking their previous corps. and if you're so willing, talking with the previous CEOs of those corps.

Wow! This could revolutionize the gameplay worldwide!

Okay, that was a slight exageration.

You sir, have come up with a brilliant idea.

Now getting it noticed is going to be a difficult task. I will be sure to offer a bump on this occasionally to keep it rolling.

A resume packet or dossier of a corporation set to join an Alliance would be useful as well.

I wholeheartedly endorse this suggestion. It shouldn't take too much effort to impliment either.

Being the CEO of a small corp with a very specific set of entrance criteria which are far from normal this would mean I might actually bother recruiting.

+1 interwebs to you, sir.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

Once again, I appreciate the positive support, and yes, this is a lame excuse for a bump :) C'mon CCP check it out!

Right now a lot of this is done out-of-game, which can be confusing for new players. Allowing the interested player to fill out information like their peak play times, what areas they are most interested in, where the majority of their skill points are, highlight some of their certificates (remember those), etc will also reduce the workload on player-leaders.

Freeing up player-leaders to get back to FCing, organizing mining ops, detailing industrial plans, and explaining their crazy visions and keeping those new players engaged in the game.

This is NOT a lame excuse for a bump.

This system should be implemented as it would do a lot to assist players who are trying to get new corps off the ground, as well as make people seeking corps more available to the cluster. If this system were to come about, I'd suggest a "Job Board" that CEOs could check on a regular basis in-game which would contain up to date resumes.

+1 for geat idea

CCP really please dont use Upgraded, Limited, Experimental and Prototype in item names. It sounds like the item is actually worse than basic meta 1 item. Use Calibrated, Enhanced, Optimized and Upgraded. Its really easy to understand that the item is better than meta 1 and its also in alphabetic order.

While I'm in here.. Something to clear up the constant show-up's of NPC Corporations in an employment history would be fantastic.. Something to eliminate all the "Aliastra" in my Employment History...

The resume system should also allow for notes to be added by previous employers as to why they were removed from previous corporations (removed for being Corp spy/thief, inactive, etc).

Newbie systems and HQs are quite effective but the main problem is that it is too easy to make a corp while being clueless.

EVE is becoming shallow and puerile; it will satisfy neither the veteran nor the "WoW" type crowd in the transition.

Just elaborating on that, far too many corps with no hope messing new players up, if it were tougher to start one, there would be less of them and more players joining up with solid corps. Smile
