I'm fairly new to the game. last night i was going through a low sec system and was caught in a bubble. i thought they were only allowed in 0.0 or less. i am pretty sure the system i was in was a 0.3 system. are they allowed in a low sec system?

Nope, no bubbles in low sec. You may have wandered into null without realising it, as null systems now display sec as 0.3 for example, rather than the 0.0 they displayed before

No, they are only allowed in 0.0.. You must have been mistaken.

Actualy no, there used to be a exploit with Hic's, i was caught by this exploit a year back

I think I know what happened,

Systems are displayed by thier true-sec rating now. You were in 0.0 but the system read -0.3 which is null sec system (note the minus sign) -0.1 to -1.0 is NULL sec and 1.0 to 0.1 is High/Low Sec.

They made this change a while back. Remember to pay attention to the negative symbol in front of the security rating.

0.3 is still lowsec. -0.3 is nullsec.

Someone correct me if I got this wrong, but I think some ships can deploy a bubble anywhere, they just do not do anything outside of null sec. I seem to remember seeing bubbles outside Jita during the riots.

Were you really trapped? Tried to warp and had it fail? Or did you just see the bubble and conclude you were trapped?

Is there a module that creates a bubble like effect but does not inhibit warp?

Modules that create an area effect and can be used in low sec:
-smart bombs
-ECM burst
-ECCM
-sensor boosters

- anything else?

Only smart bombs do damage, and none of them inhibit warp. ECM burst, and smartbombs will draw gate gun fire.

So; I do not know of any modules that fit what you are describing.

You did, I've been told it's due to a graphic glitch that hasn't been fixed since HiC's entered the game. The have NO effect outside of null sec tho.

The glitch can make it appear that there is a bubble in high or low sec, when in fact you were targeted and locked down with a scripted warp disruption field generator.

no i wasn't killed.....i was on my way to a gate and got sucked into one about 100 k off the gate. i was able to warp out of it. just thought it kind of odd. i went back and checked the system and it was a low sec system. must have been a glitch. another one of my alliance members had the same thing happen to him at the same gate a few minutes earlier. thanks for the responses
