Rookie ship type when we dock in a pod - should be from the faction of the station.

Like I've said in the title, we shouldn't get the rookie ship of our character faction when we dock in a pod.

The rookie ship type should be from the faction of the station, like the CQ type etc.

Makes sense Big smile

I like this but the rookie ship has skills required for it so it would not work.

hmm...new skill - Capsuleer Pod LIcence

1 - enables rookie ship and pod flight in space (all noob ships)

each level improves rookie ship/pod speed 5%

Or if you dock in a station from a faction where you don't have Frigate-I yet you get a ship you can't board. That doesn't sound so bad, actually.

You shouldn't even get a ship unless you dock at a station that is owned by one of your faction's member corps.

....or have a standing above (?) with that faction.

Right- if your faction is in good standing with the station's faction.

But then your new ship should cost a little money, since the station corp is doing an important favor for your faction.

Quoting myself - another option, make the faction frigate skill improve the performance of the faction rookie ship.

But - don't require the frigate skill to pilot each rookie ship at the most basic level.

Actually, the free ship should be a ugly smiley face so other can laugh at you for being too cheap to buy a small frigate. Shocked
Equipped with a mining laser and lame t1 gun to "recover" from zero and get back into the game, of course.

- no skill required.
