LATEST STORY: IN WAR-RAVAGED HUOLA, SHERRY PRODUCERS FEEL THE PAIN OF WAR by Maris Livour

I'm personally quite fond of a glass of Ravani, so I hope the situation can be resolved.

Yeah, Ravani is okay, but it pales to a good Ekuran Saki or Iceman Vodka. All the same, it looks there might be some good profit in shipping Ravani. To bad for those folks planet side though.

Oh trust me, I'm not the booze hound I used to be. Back in the day my mates and I could kill a case of Iceman in a night. That was then, in my younger and more reckless days. I'll have a shot of the stuff every now and then in memory of the men I served with who met their maker at the wrong end of a pulse rifle. Besides, a drink every now and then is good for the circulation, right?

Bollocks.

I don't feel like making a longwinded argument to counter such a terrible lie, so you can make do with the above rebuttal.

Another tragic example of the capsuleer appetite for wanton destruction:

Wanton destruction? It sounds as if your "unbiased" news does indeed have a bias against the capsuleer class.

I've accepted quite a few of these types of missions. They're officially sanctioned by governmental agencies, such as the Republic Fleet or Republic Security Services, or by large private corporations that require assistance in removing these dangerous hubs of illicit activity from their space. These "pleasure hubs", or "roadhouses" are never licensed by or registered with the local authorities and are always operated by criminal organizations. I've personally dispatched many of these outposts that were used by the Angel Cartel or the Seven as centers for slave trading, prostitution, gambling, fencing of stolen goods and drug dealing. I find it odd that your story attacks capsuleers for removing these criminal run operations from space.

The loss of life of non-criminal occupants of this hub is sad and something we all try to avoid. However, the responsibility for those deaths lies ultimately with the Angels.

While it is true that some work contracts given to capsuleers by "mission" agents do involve the destruction of a variety of structures - both "legal" and not - as a requirement for fulfillment of the contract, there are at least as many times where the contract does not include such a requirement.

In those cases, the responsibility lies very firmly with the capsuleer in question. If it isn't listed explicitly on the contract as a valid target, and is not directly impeding your completion of that contract, if you open fire, you are responsible for what happens to anyone who happens to be on board the structure or vessel that you've just shot at.

There's a reason I avoid engaging anything I don't need to when I take on work from an agent. Mind, if someone opens fire on me, all bets are off, but even then it isn't necessary to do as much damage as possible to get the job done to the point that the agent's client(s) would consider it done.

Who are these capsule-bound demigods who rule our skies?

Some say they are superstars to be applauded, others claim they are heroes to be adored, a few might claim they are indeed gods to be worshipped. Yet their detractors claim they are morally-devoid warmongering criminals hungry for power. This Capsuleer Focus series aims to lift the lid on the secrets of the “podders” lives and discover the truth.

Read on to learn about the private life, habits and hates of one of New Eden’s elite.

I was shocked when I heard of Alain's demise, quite some time ago.

Although I did not agree with all of his views I must admit he wasn't wrong all the time either.

Interesting article on crew pay. One documentation note: The illustration was not of a rookie crew training but of a Valklear training sesion.

My editor says he was aware of the Valklear connection and the image was merely used as a representation of rookie training in general. As camera drones are not presently allowed on crew decks, accurate imagery is a little hard to come by and he hopes that the readership may forgive Tech4's artistic licence in this regard.

Sounds a bit delusional to me. Interesting news article. Keep up the good work, Tech4. Here's a quote from the article that I think kind of pegs the big problem among all capsuleers, not just the Sani Sabik. "...studies have shown that over ninety-seven percent of capsuleers suffer from what some refer to as the deity complex; they have absolute confidence in their effective immortality, distinct signs of narcissism and egocentricity to the exclusion of all else, and display an inability to empathize with normal human beings."

My, the things in the baseliner news these days...

I believe I've granted an interview to the Dark Amarr News regarding this issue which will be conducted soon, but I suppose I could speak with Tech4 as well.

The baseliners do deserve some measure of knowledge with regards to what awaits them.
