[To CCP] about the red rules that pop in the recruitment channel

All right, after falling for the goonswarm scam myself, I had the chanche to contact a lot of people that fell for the same scam.

Now don't take me wrong, it's not about the scam itself that i'm protesting against, it's about your stupid rule in the recruitment channel.
It says that it's forbidden to use said channel to locate target players to scam.
that message is quite hard to misunderstand, and i can prove that i was contacted from that channel with all the logs i've saved.
Now, i don't want what i lose back, really, I don't care about it (also because the same message says that if you make any deal outside the recruitment channel, it's at your own peril)

BUT REMOVE THE RULE FROM THERE!

That message causes people to relax, and to think that they can't get scammed if they get contacted from that channel. If you remove that rule, at least people would still be aware that they might end up getting scammed for all their assets.

And please ccp... don't put any rule you can't enforce. I've opened a petition about that scam more than 2 weeks ago, and I still didn't get any reply.

You deserved being scammed if you actually use the recruitment channel.

However, unless they actually posted into recruitment chat or typed it out to you, there is no way to prove someone selected you as a target from there. Innocent until proven guilty, me thinks?

What I understood from this post is that you got scammed and so want others to get scammed?

Makes sense...

"We will create the introduction thread if that is requested by the community. Also, we will have an ISD Seminar about the CCL team in the coming weeks in which you can ask your questions about the CCL team and provide some constructive feedback to us." - Countless pages of locked threads and numerous permabanned accounts later, change is coming.

When I first started Eve, I joined a corp with some friends from another game and one of those friends told me the first rule in Eve is "everyone is out to get you, even your best friends" and he then proceeded to blow up my frigate which at the time was my best possession :D
This is my signature. There are many others like it, but this one is mine.  Without me, my signature is useless. Without my signature, I am useless

They best way to help new people in the recruitment channel is to simply have CCP remove the recruitment channel from the game.

Wow. I think this quote alone speaks volumes abouth how the EVE playerbase views new players. I mean, the reqruitment channel is virtually advertized by CCP as a good place to find a corp.

That is :CCP: for ya.

While on one side trying to improve the New Player Experience and advertise the Recruitment Channel as a way to get a foothold in EVE, on the other they kiss Goon ass and applaud greiefing, scamming and other asshattery as the "cool stuff" that supposedly make EVE stand out better than the rest.

We call it a sandbox.

If you're actively looking for an Alliance or Corp to join, look on the recruitment FORUMS, not the channel.

The recruitment channel, regardless as to what you might think it is for; is an intel gathering tool, Your not going to find a quality corp in there, and corps are not going to find quality players. The forum has literally hundreds of corp/alliance listings to sift through that compliment all forms of game-play, go there, look for people that do what you want to do, try and join them.

Talking to someone in recruitment, and then talking to them the next day in private chat is completely different then using the channel for scouting, as outlined per CCP. Many of the larger Alliances in this game are based off of external communities, which don't give a single gram of **** about genuinely new EvE players. However, such places like Reddit, TenTonHammer, SomethingAwful or Massively have in game groups that require membership on their external sites to gain acceptance.

This is also true for Dreddit and GoonWaffe. The other member corps of TEST and GoonSwarm do NOT have these requirements; even still gaining acceptance typically requires you to know someone who knows someone. If you get scammed in EvE, or even if something sounds to good to be true, and you bite on it; its your decision, and thusly your own damn fault.

The no scamming rule is an almost complete farce which CCP cannot (will not )enforce. RECRUITMENT CHANNEL SHOULD INSTEAD JUST SAY SCAMMERS SUCH AS GOONS, SKUNKWORKS,LEAD FARMER, TEARS, etc ... ARE HERE & PETITIONING A SCAM IS A WASTE OF TIME. All the scammers need to do is produce 1 convo log outside outside the channel with a single sentence with the words deal finalized to say hey we skirted you silly rule naaa naaaaa. THE RED RULE'S CREATION OF A FALSE SENSE OF SAFETY DOES MORE TO PROVE PETITIONING CCP IS A WASTE OF TIME THEN ANYTHING ELSE IN THE GAME.

This is logical. Remove this rule or enforce it. Otherwise people can petition to require the right that CCP promised.

We *do not* scam in Recruitment. SKNK. may push the envelope on rules--and we're proud to say that at least one patch (maybe two) and two rules exist because of us--but when we know that something is expressly forbidden, we don't do it.

While I've never been caught by a scam myself I've heard from many who have second hand... the asshattery of using an 'officially CCP sponsored' channel with a improperly worded rule that scams are not allowed there but later says they can be with ambiguous conditions just creates a game which expoits are REWARDED UNTIL THE POPULACE SCREAMS LOUD ENOUGH ( like the silent logi aggro exploit that was finally plugged or dumping of cans & corpses by bubbles to uncloak & create lag )
Until these scams and/or expoits get 300 to 400 petitions with the same excuse that 'our logs show nothing' you get a disgruntaled customer base that sayz eff it and believes nuthin CCP says & every 2-3 years you get a TTTTTT20 outrage or a Jita protest that results in a temporary subscription loss with all the rage quits boiling over. If CCP is lucky they get 50% to 75% of those bittervets retuning after 6 months

Never rely on rules to protect you. Don't even bother reading the rules.

It makes you look weak, lazy, stupid or all of the above.
