I have a feeling I'm the only person who enjoys both EVE and TBBT Oops

Still, if it means a certain group of my friends see it on there, and then decide to try out EVE, I'd rather it not. P

If CCP is willing to pay Chuck Lorre a stack of cash and the writers could script something actually funny out that non-EVE players would laugh at; then and only then will you see EVE on TBBT.

Neither of which I foresee happening anytime soon. CCP does not have the marketing cash (remember the 20% layoff?) and it would be a waste considering the target audience will have no clue what EVE is.

Who knows really. They love playing hours of ping pong after an audience shoot with tournaments and everything so maybe if CCP ships them a 9th ping pong table for the stage and some extra paddles, Chuck might let the writers slip in something about internet spaceships.

The Big Bang Theory is a painfully unfunny show that pretends to be a smart show for smart people, but in reality it's created by the same people who made Dharma & Greg and Two-And-A-Half Men so it's basically another watered-down sitcom for the idiot masses. It appeals to your standard garden-variety imbeciles, but in addition to that it is also adored by the latest demographic of dumb hipsters who adopt the phony "nerd" persona. Despite the show being an unmistakeable piece of crap, it is showered with praise and five-star reviews from virtually everyone. Its existence and popularity is a definite sign that there is absolutely no hope for the human gene pool.

You sound upset that a TV show not aimed at wanna be 'players' like charlie sheen and canned laughter twits who enjoy drama and greg, and branching out to geeks and nerds, is still a bad thing?

Jesus C dude, grow up. *rolls eyes*

If they made a show PEREFECT for you to enjoy, youd find a way to complain about it anyway.

I love both TBBT and EVE, you are not alone.
But the fact that CCP pays HBO creeps me out.

CCP should try for the Simpsons instead. Most EVE players kind of remind me of Bart... or Ned Flanders.

Bart? Flanders? Everywhere i look in EVE i see Montgomery Burns.

Fill them with a horde of players who, whilst they had heard of EVE Online and possibly researched it, could only be convinced that it was worth trying when they saw it while sitting on their arse watching a non-interactive television programme with their tv-dinners?

That'll go down well.

Yes because all eve on-line players are elite sun tzu reading, high achievement go getters who quote Clausewitz's "vom kriege" in their sleep, while strangling bears when the feel they need a new coat after an invigorating run through ice blasted plateaus of their personal secret artic lair and a sauna with their lingerie-model girlfriend that likes to discuss plato's the republic, followed by a steak dinner served by Dragon your english/russian butler former spetnaz bodyguard and personal trainer.

I do like BBT, and an eve online poster or t shirt wouldn't be a miss in the show, somewhere. If I remember correctly wolowitz has guild wars on his wall, and that's, guild wars...or wat is lineage, either way....

Heck, I'd be happy to see the occasional EVE reference in Robot Chicken, or a Family Guy special.

Mayhaps Flanders is just too specific.

Our scientists built a spaceship, saying they'd found a new world for us to inhabit.
So, they put us all aboard, but there wasn't enough room for everyone.
"We'll build a second ship," they told us, "and will be right behind you."

And, they launched us into what turned out to be a randomly selected spot in space,
all the while laughing up their sleeves that they had finally gotten rid of us.
Though, fortune smiled upon us. We crash landed on a habitable but vacant world.
And, we called it Earth.

PS I hasten to add, I don't watch television. It turns people into fools, as evidenced by this thread.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I used to smug about this too, not owning a TV now for about five years, but I realized I sink as much or more of my brain into the internet. Not quite as scripted, but sure as hell hasn't helped my IQ.

Hate to break it to you, but if the characters from The Big Bang Theory played EVE, they would be Goons.

Seriously, half of Goonwaffe are bored scientists and engineers. If EVE didn't exist, we would probably be on Mars by now.

Sorry, objection!
It is nice how proud you are of your corp, but as far as videogamers go, the goons are at least somewhat successful and a large alliance with much social interaction.
The punchline of TBBT is always a variation of "Those guys are smart, but never get stuff done and fail at life and everywhere else".
If anything, Sheldon would make a one-man corp, multibox 300 accounts and declare war on goons. And he would terribly fail.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Something like that, yeah. But he would NEVER, ever team up with other players. Blink
