or at least a mouse over .
dont want to use this new calendar, or alt-tab to the desktop, to see what day we have.
a quick look to the well known position, without clicking metal scraps, please.

+1, I too miss being able to see the date in the bottom corner of the screen (especially when it's not the same date GMT as it is GMT+5, where I am).

It used to be so much easier to compare times for completions of jobs at a glance as one example.
