WH linked Island Null Sec

There are plenty of people who dive in WH's or live in them but.... what about non WH space that is only accessable by WH's? It could be just like normal null sec, and possibly even have a multi system link via stargates of antiquity.

There could be a whole story built behind it, old pockets of space where the original gate system broke down and unlinked from. Now the only way to get to these locations are by wormholes. Old abandoned space stations and dead colonies are left adrift... ready to be reclaimed by the bold and daring.

You could even have independent gate networks that do not link directly to the greater 'world' of Eve.

There is a lot of expansive ideas that can carry along with this.... but lets see what others think of the core idea before I ramble on.

That's a whole massive expansion all of it's own but from an exploration perspective I likes it.

It would need a lot of thrashing through to make it workable. For example, do you mean an area of, say 100 star systems which are all linked in a network like New Eden and have wormholes randomly appearing and disappearing like we have with K-Space at the moment or do you mean a series of clumps of systems all separate kind of like wormholes are now to K-space but only accessible via wormholes?

Either way, I wholeheartedly endorse further discussion on this topic.

first corp/alliance to get in and light up a cyno will pretty much own one of these k-space pockets. You have to be VERY careful about how the mechanics work here...

... though it is an intriguing idea.

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

This is a very interesting idea...

It has a lot of potential issues... The simplest way to bypass the majority of these issues is to make them NPC (Sansha?) space. This would prevent many of the sov issues, and moreless levels the playing field for those living and traveling in these isolated pocket.

Could do entire sectors of space only connected to one another via worm holes, has potential. What would work well too is each sector has some sort of resource that can be found all over that sector, but can not be found any where else. Could be high, low, null chunks.

Real quick- Two things...

1. Ask me about my jump range with Jump Drive Calibration V.

2. Ask me about my 750,000m3 Carrier Cargo Hold.

I kind of like the second idea -- a number of systems that were once part of the jumpgate network, but for one reason or nother got 'cut off' from the rest of New Eden.

I can't get rid of my darn signature!  Oh, wait....

+1 for the intriguing idea.
The sov questions need to be flashed out though, before the impact of this idea can be discussed.

I get the feeling that this is what Apocrypha should have been.

The difference between a current WH system and these nullsec islands is basically Sov, stations, local and Sanctums. The basic idea seems to be to make 0.0 even safer than it currently is. Six months in, these islands would be carebear paradise, jam-packed with ratting supercapitals.

Hilariously bad idea, even by F&I standards. Lol

i like the idea but with some additions

first make it so that you can not jump from K space to this new space

next no belts but like W-space grav sites

and most important NO LOCAL (W-space style)

good thing you're not a developer then because this would have turned Apocrypha from one of the best expansions to one of the worst
