this has been going on for a while. they've gotten assistance with cursing or at least increasing the odds of fighting some forms of cancer using either this program, or one very close to it.
then there is something called folding at home. it is not a game, but most of the people using it are gamers. and that has also helped with a significant amount of assistance that would not have otherwise been possible.
