You fell for literally the best documented scam in eve.

Well done.

I don't agree - it's not well documented.

Really?

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.

Would you like help transferring a supercap? I act as a trusted third party to escrow such transactions, just like Chribba!

A few years ago (maybe 3-4 years,) I started a payment plan to get into goons.

I was told that I would have to pay 150M per month to be placed in the unofficial queue of possible applicants. After a couple of months, I was notified in one of my "donation/fee" confirmation emails that I had been placed in the official queue of possible applicants and a representative would be reviewing my application. I was also notified that when I was placed into the official queue my application fee would be increased to 300M per month. Unfortunately, the following month I had a terrible market yield, bought a few ships that I shouldn't have, and wasn't able to meet the next month's donation deadline.

A couple of months had pasted since that last missed payment and I assumed I was removed from the application list but out of nowhere I received an evemail from Karttoon. It stated that I could renew my application and I wouldn't have to wait in the unofficial queue. I was ecstatic thinking that I would finally be accepted into goons but with this great news there was one slight downside. Due to my missed application fee, The application fee was be increased to 500M per month.

At the time, This was easy money for me - with those few months that I wasn't paying those application fees I had amassed a huge profit margin on a few (undisclosed) items and finally bought myself that freighter that I always wanted.

It seemed with every confirmation evemail my application number would get closer and closer to zero. But about 2 years ago, My application was put on hold. I was told that any future app fees would be placed in an escrow account and potential used for free ships when joining.

About 1 year ago, I stopped receiving confirmation evemails and I feared I would lose my spot in the official queue. So I started to double up on my monthly app fee to assure my spot in the queue.

To date - I should have about 24B in escrow and all I really want is my FREE KARTTOON invite.

Dear fellow pod pilots

Have you ever wanted to go to war with a powerful alliance that is evil and has no integrity?

Well, it’s your lucky day.

Goonswarm Federation have a well organised scam that involves a website setup for the purpose of scamming.

If your alliance is in a coalition with Goonswarm Federation, you have to ask yourself, “Can I really trust them?”. The answer is “No”, and here is the evidence.

Just when you’re on the brink of being accepted into Goonswarm, they ask for a 2,000,000,000 ISK deposit. (The recruitment officer, Sordeo Regius, says it’s refundable in a month unless you are involved with spying activity.)

They've upped their standard. Last time I heard about this, it was 200M.

But the bottom line is that it was your own fault. The Goons have been doing this for years. There's a thread about it on a weekly basis. And even the reason given for that kind of entry application should have rung alarm bells in your brain. And you still fell for it.

However, Goonswarm Federation are making a point of being the ‘bad guys’ of Eve.

Surely, every pod pilot who has a moral conscience, and has always wanted to fight the good fight against evil should rally against Goonswarm.

It is time to pod Goonswarm.

"Bad guys"?

They're teaching you not to blindly trust someone you know nothing about. That's a very valuable lesson, both IG and IRL. I'd almost thank them for the service they do to the community, for their fight against foolishness.

Welcome to EVE.

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

(playing devil's advocate)

Somebody should make a sticky with this:

Wanna be a goon? Read this: Joining GoonWaffe 101 (Goonfleet wiki)

Everything else it's a scam. Also the goons never sell capitals nor supercapitals to non-goons, so if a goon is selling one to you and you are not a goon, then you are being scammed by a goon.

If people do anything else besides despising Goons and shoot at them at any given opportunity they are doing something wrong.

Well, the Goons up until now have not been that dispised at all. For example, they have the largest membership in Eve and are effectively in charge of the largest coalition.

If I knew that the Goons were routinely dishonest, I would never have applied. I would have applied to a rival alliance - which is obviously the way forward.

You did it wrong all the way.

If you read the wiki page you should have known that if you're not SA forums members the only way you can make part of the ball is to join corporations in the coalition or small alliances blued to them.
