SiSi will have a new font in the next build, most likely tomorrow, September 21st.

Read about it in this dev blog and please use this thread to report any issues you encounter on the test server.

General feedback on the new font can be posted here.

Already posted in another thread but it's worth to repeat. Don't release this font until all cyrillic characters get normal looks.

OK right now I re-checked and errors in previous statement was fixed in latest nightly.
But still "л" looks like "п" and dot is barely recognizable.

Why I'm bothering with this now? Because CCP can release stuff and then never look back or fix bugs just like with fonts on eveisreal page: http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/9852/brokenfont.png

English font is ok thought.

I do hope this isnt just for chat boxes and the entire fonts within the game, i still would like to be able to play eve on a 32" screen using 1080p without having to squint at the station info text and all other text. About time & good work if thats the case.

In all honesty im already used to the new font...(the currant never did bother me)

I agree it has greatly improved legibility and that's good, but the new font just seems too.... round. Doesn't seem sci-fi at all.

Just my 2c, make with it what you will.

I mean, with at least a 5-year backlog of genuinely broken stuff in the game, you guys aren't seriously devoting resources to changing the FONT, right?

I thought so. Phew.

For a second there I thought you were serious about this. Totally had me going.

Sorry to say but the readability has degraded judging by those screenshots. Yes, you now can distinguish between some characters, but overall it takes me more effort to scan a sentence.

It's a good change. Especially with a bit of fine tuning. My question though is why not let us choose from several fonts?

Please make the font changeable in size while still the new font applies to ALL windows (not like the current mix of fontsizes if you leave the default size). Many alliance leaders will have multiple chat channels open at the same time, so even small fontsize must be easy to read and not create headache. So far the font looks more like Serif than Sans. While Serif is ok for letters I do not like it for internet pixels.

Can someone post an image of what the "~" (tilde) character looks like in the new font?

Also perhaps a showcase of the different font sizes in a chat window?

Also, see the menu screen:

"Show introduction movie on next login"
"Show Session-Change Timer"

"Only stack windows if Shift pressed"
Try to use existing info window if any (except if shift is pressed)"

If you can't decide on one way of capitalization, maybe it would be better to keep it in all caps.
