Keyword here son: "Rumour"

Either there's a dev post, dev blog or something in patch note, everything you hear is entirely bullshit

this is literally the dumbest rumor I've ever seen and you should be ashamed for even thinking to yourself for a second that it might be true, much less posting about it

This post was crafted by a member of the GoonSwarm Federation Economic Cabal, the foremost authority on Eve: Online economics and gameplay.

Rumour for sure. Can't say I wouldn't mind it though.

They should allow alliances to "coin" their own currencies, that should be good for a few laughs.

Woo. Currency trading. I am so looking forward to contracts that trade a million gallente isk for a million caldari isk.

However, I can't see the devs as having the desire to change the gui to support 4 different currency types for buying, selling, trading, contracts, market graphs, etc.. Not worth the time, testing, and support to make such an idea work.

Send ik to Jita alt. Jita lt does currency conversion. Send back isk. This would nerf the hell out of all factions but Caldari.

this sounds familiar... i KINDA remember someone talking about it... but that was years ago, and i am sure it wasn't a dev or anything like that...

i THINK it was back when they removed the 'highways' and introduced lowsec systems between factions... someone said they should make it so that each race had its own currency... but it was shot down due to too much work, and no logical gain. Would just be a make work campaign. With CCP having so much on the table as it is, i can't see them doing something like this just for the hell of it.

This idea has been floated before e.g. 1234
All that came out of it was that CCP introduced aurum :)

I would not mind different currencies now, after 4 years of playing eve. As a new player it may be a nightmare :)

What I would like is for CCP to get rid of aurum.

Any colour you like.

JISK is the future! Invest now make fortunes soon!

What is JISK you ask? Well it is the one truly stable currency in EVE against which will be the gold standard of all Kredits in EVE...

JISK - Jovian Interstellar Kredits / for the forward looking capsuleer.

I suggest you contact the society of conscious thought for further clarifications. Or not.

I wouldn't mind it if we could do forex trading. Smile

Then again, would be a massive pain the ass for the typical player just looking to blow up stuff in space.

Even if they did, it would only take a few weeks, maybe months before a single currency has taken the place ISK has now. Probably the Caldari one. So, who cares?

Looking forward to the Caldari ISK being the "gold standard" while:

a) the Gallente ISK suffers massive devaluation after "Euro-zone" style debt restructuring,
b) the Minimatar ISK rapidly collapses into total uselessness and is forever known as the "Peso of EVE", and
c) the Amarrian ISK is horded in giant vaults on some mountainous planet that prides itself on the discretion of it's numbered accounts while it's clientele gambles away billions at one of Kruul's casinos.

Oh, the joy of currency futures... or lack thereof. Roll

Mook.
