[Incursion] Which ship?

Hi!

I'm about to start Incursion running, but got laughed when I tried to join one of the shield fleets with my normal Apocalypse. (My Main is Amarr and I love lazers :) )

So I decided to field a "shiny" ship like all the others. But I don't have the money for a Nightmare, so I'm looking for a

- Navy Apoc
or a
- Navy Armageddon

Which ship would you choose....Which ship would u like to have in your fleet?

Additional to this I currently fit the very very expensive Meta4 Pulse Laser, cause I can't use T2 yet. Is it better to switch to faction lasers?

Thanks for all your answers o/

You got laughed because the Golden Horde (aka Amarr ships) are armour tanking ships and not shield tanking.
Don't think pimping your fit will make you better, it will only make your loss even more expensive.

http://incursions.nexsoft.de/

Take a look at that website, it has a lot of possible fits that are used to run incursions in.

While that link is great your are wrong, Amarr ships can be shield tanked for incursions, it clears out all those Lows for Damage Mods which means they can chunk out DPS by the bucket load.

Get T2 Pulse, and a good fit, and you should get into fleets, then save up for a Nightmare, then get into fleets even easier.

Completely true, but getting a proper shield tank on an Amarr ship means you have to have quite decent skills.

And also being invited into the more effective / better fleets that run incursions means they likely work on an invite only style, so they will have to notice you as a good player and then you will be invited into their fleets.

Yeah I agree there, but I see a lot of Navy Geddons, so if you have good skills go for that while you train NM otherwise I have another suggestion;
Although it might seem like a long train, if you want to get into Incursions quickly and be effective, train for a Scimi/Basi, they are cheap (relatively) and ALWAYS needed, I often bring my PVP basi down when war-decs are off, just take off the ECCM and im good to go.

(Logi V will get you into fleets much faster, and is basically a must for the Scimitar, its a drag, but worth it)

And Logis have the most fun in incursions anyways, the rest is just shooting by numbers.

Above is true. Logi pilots are loved by both incursion runners and PvP fleets. Although it seems bit boring and sometimes a long train, it will actually pay off. Everybody loves logi's in the end as they keep you alive to fight.

There are also armor gangs for incursions, maybe you should try to get into those.
Your main issue for incursions (at least vanguards) will not be raw dps, but getting that eft-dps applied. Those little buggers are fast as hell, so the fleet should have a large amount of webbing at its disposal. Three targeting computers + tracking scripts are often not enough to hit a non-webbed target decently.
As a battleship, you normally don't web (ususually the T3 cruisers do that job), but you should talk about that with the FC and fit your ship accordingly.
Amarr battleships have good capacitors, so they will often ask you to fit an energy transmitter to support your logis (thats why geddon > apoc...geddon has the spare utility highslot).

edit:
To answer your question about Navy Apoc or Navy Geddon: both are viable. Navy Geddon has the above mentioned advantage of the utility slot + bigger dronebay. Navy Apoc is better for solo running level 4s, so if you plan to use your ship for other things besides incursions, maybe the Navy Apoc would be a little bit more useful. (and yes, an incursion fitted Navy Apoc -replace the plate with an armor repper- will absolutely raep level 4 missions)

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Your ship type is not as important as the fake faction fit you must import from EFT to get picked for gangs.
