I am probably missing something basic but how do you unsubscribe or subscribe to notifications on a thread without posting in it?

I accidentally subscribed to the conversation thread about the new devblog and now my notifications are getting just plain silly.

I have yet to try the notifications myself (doing that right now), but have you tried checking the "Favorites" tab already (below the thread title)?

Nope, that's not it.

However, you should be able to limit the flood of notifications by adjusting your notification settings. I'll see what I can find out in regards to stop the notifications for a thread without posting in it.

Edit: and of course I missed the most obvious place...

You can of course edit your post and uncheck the option there as well.

Hmm, it strikes me that something is missing. i.e. How do you subscribe to a thread if you don't feel like posting... if you try to just post nothing it questions your sanity ;)

I happened to post again to the same thread and it looks like you have to edit every reply in the thread that has the checkbox checked, which also seems very sub-optimal.

Favorites = notifications What?

The idea I thought was a split funcionality

Favorites is accessed from my favoites tab and are pages/ posts we want access to like guides and stuff

Threads with Notifications attached are only accessable thru the notifications tags at the top of the page. Turning this feature off and on needs to be easy and within the thread. With maybe a new tab in the favorites so we can clear up all the posts that have notifications linked to them.

The Dev post Search needs a notification flag so people are not clicking on it all the time seeing if there is a new postLol
