EFT is in no way connected with Java so it's either a coincidence or this Java installation did something bad with your system.
First, you may try to run a new copy of EFT without copying your setups and other files to it to make sure some of your files don't get corrupted.
Another thing you can try is to go Start -> Setting -> Language and regional standards and change decimal separator symbol from comma to a dot and check if it helps.

Eft has been crashing a few times, but thats okay. One time it crashed, and when I rebooted basicaly all my fits down from the omen and of all the ships above were deleted. Gone. Not even in the folder. The only ships left were frigate sized hulls and destroyers, apart from the omen and arby. Its really wierd. Now that really pissed me off because I always was an EFT warrior and all my fits just vanished. Whatever. Except it just happened again. Same exact thing, except now all my fits from punisher up are gone.

That should not happen. Changes are saved when you exit EFT and in case of crash no files would be changed. If you really think it's an EFT issue then some more info about crashes would be helpful. Like exact error message or what you do when crashes occur.

Bump for version 2.14.4
Changes:
- Wrong names of some recently renamed modules were fixed
- Rate of fire bonus from Leviathan was removed

- Recently renamed modules and charges are now recognized correctly in the setups or through import by their old names too
- Comma is no longer a valid symbol to have in setup or character names
- Opened setups windows are saved and restored between sessions now

You should add CUDA support or something like that. EFT can be pretty heavy on my CCP at times.

Also, I think a more aesthetically pleasing GUI and maybe some higher-resolution icons would be nice.

There is no error message and its pretty random. Basically the whole window just hangs, and I have to force close it.

This is highly informative, thank you. The difference then is that EFT is using the average value as you describe, while pyfa is reporting the lowest value during the periodic process. Excellent graphic, and thanks for 2.14.4.

Is there any reason why you don't use GitHub/Sourceforge/whatever or at least a basic wordpress blog where you publish your releases?

For people that don't like these forums it's really hard to figure out when you release a new version and it's a pain to update.

Gripen, please add an Auto-Updater or put EFT on Desura or something.

Couple quick questions. Firstly, when I add a character through API it works fine but after I close EFT and reopen it that character info isn't saved and needs to be re-added. This is a new issue for me as its always worked properly before.

Secondly, what's the rule for saving ship fittings? Sometimes fittings are saved and sometimes not and it seems generally beyond my control.

Thanks.

Yeah, happens for me too. I think I found a setting somewhere that tells it to save it at least once per minute.. try keeping the program open for a couple minutes after you are done with it, to make sure that everything gets saved.

Try just overwriting the old folder with the new version.. Worked fine for me.

I have an align time question, spotted by a fellow goon elsewhere.

I used EFT 2.14.4 and pyfa 1.1.2 to look at align time of an All-ZERO skill, no implants Charon.

EFT gives 87s, Pyfa gives 83.2s.

The formula from the wiki at http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Aligning gives 83.17s, calculated in python:
>>> -log(0.25)*9.6e8*0.0625/1e6
83.17766166719343
Charon data from: http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Charon

EDIT: using a more precise value for charon agility, it appears EFT is in error here. Gripen? Sorry to bug you more, heh. This error extends to other ships too, of course.

Can you please make a "Prerequisites Only" character? I want to see setups exactly as they would work if you just had the prerequisite skills, for maximum accuracy.

I'm having a major discrepancy in my fittings. I imported my API code, the only skill I've worked on the last 8 days was Hull V (which will be done tomorrow morning)

EFT says I should be getting 443dps+60drone dps=503dps
In game right now I'm getting 387dps+60drone dps=447dps

Also, EHP on EFT says 117,420
EHP in game says ~103,000

Cap in EFT says Stable@47%
Cap in game runs out in 16:40mins

This is my fitting.

EFT is not an opensource and I'm only developer of it so there is no need to use such services for code synchronization.

As for updates, it's more convinient for me to post them here, sorry.

Such things usually happen when you put EFT into Program Files and Windows UAC messes up file access.

EFT gives 87s, Pyfa gives 83.2s.

The formula from the wiki at http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Aligning gives 83.17s ...

I used to use this formula also until my alt trained for freighter. Then I took a stopwatch, done the measurements and improved calculation accuracy.

Can you post your guns parameters from show info in game and in EFT? Namely damagemod, rate of fire and activation cost.

Inilara wrote:

Use show info to check CPU usage for every module in your fit ingame and compare it to EFT values. If the source of discrepancy won't be obvious to you by that moment please report here which module had wrong CPU.

First of all, let me say you are amazing and EFT is fantastic. Bravo.

Edit: Was mentioning some old modules had not been renamed but saw that it has been updated with the latest version.
EFT really stays current. Good stuff.

d'oh... my mistake

i did like you said and noticed that i have fitted in game a T2 Shield Boost Amplifier instead of the T1 in my eft fitting.

so everything is fine.
