See this Topic.

Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Sometimes when I post, I look at my sig and wish that I'd follow my own god damned advice.

Thats not an enigma, last time I saw the enigma it was a coca-cola red daredevil with more jovian affixutures to it.

Dust 514's CPM 1 Iron Wolf Saber Eve mail me about Dust 514 issues.

Yup it a Cockroach. It is a re-modeled "BH Mega Cargo Ship" with a cargo hold you could pack a bunch of freighters into. It's used by bughunters for finding bugs and CCP for sisi testing.

HOWEVER

What's in the cargo hold IS an Enigma.

Now that's really interesting.

FOLLOWUP:

It looks like CCP stole it (the Enigma) back from those pirates and gave them a measly 2 PLEX. That's some bullsh** right there. Totally unimpressed w/ that call CCP, given that there's no loot reimbursement for petitions and it requires the skill Jove Frigate 5 to fly anyway...

If you read the comments on the KB, they had to give it back and got 2 PLEX.

I just find it a bit weird, that they started rewarding people who interfere with CCP bug hunting with free PLEXs. The killmail alone is priceless for players, they knew they couldn't keep any special loot they got and IIRC obstucting CCP personel while they're doing their job is even against TOS, so why go out of your way to reward the players for doing it and encourage others to do the same in the future?

Congratz on the kill though.

Eve is the sandbox. not the first time a Dev/CCP person has been popped and will not be the last. He was AFK from what TFS said. They tried to ransom him first, but no response. The Bastards have caught devs before and we go for things like Haiku's or what not for the fun of it. CCP did not have to give him compensation, but he was honest about it and his intentions and they threw him a bone and let the KM stand.

I am kind of hoping the dev bought it in a bubble or gate camp so they see what a crap mechanic this "gate to gate" jump thing is.

It would have become the premier collectors ship in EVE though. Merely holding it in your hanger would have been a status symbol.

Good ol' UO GM killing.

PS: I think there were two instances of GM killing in WoW, both resulted in a ban, and both bans were bullshit. Props to your friend.

shows you how touchy other producers are about it though. what kind of repercussions did you get hit with for killing the UO mod? worst part of that they took away his loot. the dev probably face palmed about dying, but that's probably the worst of it.

nothing at all, actually.

but I may have had good notes on my account, as I had turned in a stack of ore I had found once that was clearly bugged. It was utterly massive, a 10+ digit number, no clue where it came from but it was under geometry and I found it by accident clicking the ground. I ended up leapfrogging that pile for 2 hours till I got it in a bank, made a ton of gold selling it, and then turned in the rest of it.

How did you get a good note if you sold enough of the bug to walk off rich?

I wonder, will they ask the AFK Dev to reimburse those PLEXes? Twisted
